Custom slippies?

Me too!! I got to go to a knife show recently and meet him, as well as see MORE of his stuff in person. It is amazing!! He is also an incredibly nice man too.

I generally prefer lockbacks or linerlocks in my custom folders. However, I once saw one of Bill's knives that I liked, but didn't buy because I like to buy from the maker directly. I still think today that I should have made an exception. I seldom see him having anything available directly, but I keep hoping to run into him at a knife show.

I can help out a little here.
:)

Kerry Hampton is an up and comer.

Richard Rogers is very accomplished and at the top of the heap with folks like Joel, Bill, Gene Shadley. I have more of Richards knives in my collection than any other maker.
Here is one of his:

Tony's son Reese Bose is a chip off dad's block to say the least:

and another by Reese:

Johnny Stout is doing a great job also:

If you can talk him into one, I also think Bailey is doing a fantastic job on them when he feels in the mood to make one:

Mike Zscherny is also cranked up after a little over a year of taking slipjoints on.
He is also doing a great job.

Dan Burke has been making them well for a long time.

Keep your eyes on some of the newer maker members here also. The latest one I got from Rick Menefee is awesome and I hope to get some of Joe Allen and Bret Dowell's work.

No slipjoint thread would be complete without mentioning C. Grey Taylor and his incredible work too as well as Terry Davis.

Bill offers his work for sale here. I bought my Bullet folder from him. He was also at the Marlboro, MA. NCCA knife show last Sunday.

It’s like you’re reading my mind. I have an order placed with three of those makers, and am leaning towards ordering a Joe Allen BP for sometime next year.

I have on order a Kerry Hampton Khnutbuster, a Rick Menefee clip-point trapper, and a Bret Dowell swayback.

I really think that Rusty Preston makes a great knife:thumbup: Others that I like are Jerry Halfrich, Bill Ruple, Mike Zscerny, Bose boys, Ken Erickson and Kerry Hampton. Like others I'm sure I left out others, yet it isn't an intentional sight:thumbup:

WOW Gus... I guess you CAN offer some input! Exquisite display.

Pleasure seeing all the fine slippies posted.

Sure are some great slipjoints being made out there presently!! Nice to see all the tremendous examples. Good luck, kamagong. You are going to be off and running with some super folders soon.

Here is a recent example of Jerry Halfrich's work. His 4 1/8th-inch HTT pattern.
