Custom slippies?

Ryuichi Kawamura is outstanding. Simply fabulous work. Some of the best knives I've seen, and I've looked at quite a few.

check these from Jim Corrado, Wayne Goddard and Bailey Bradshaw.
The goldlip Corrado has Sterling bolsters and liners, gold escutcheon plate and a great damascus blade; It's the most perfect handmade folder I have ever seen, as there is no flaw visible to the naked eye and the joinery cannot be felt when one runs a finger over the piece!
The other Corrado has engraved sterling scales.

slightly off topic---

I have read this thread with some amusement. A few years back, I posed the same question, and received a great deal of helpful advice from a number of people, especially Gus. Since then, I have manged to accumulate quite a number of custom slipjoints--indeed, they are now the major postion of my custom collection.

Since then, a number of newer makers have come around (or at least ones that were not on my original map), and I am glad to see them listed here.

The people on this forum, with their willingness to share their knowledge, are the best part of this little hobby. This includes makers (Tony and Reese, Bailey Bradshaw, Joel Chamblin, Dan Burke, Gray Taylor all come to mind, although there are others), purveyors (especially John Hanlon, Paul Shindler, and Paul Farina) and collectors (too many to name, but Gus stands out). My thanks to all of you.

Agreed. It is really incredible how helpful the people here can be to a relative stranger. You guys are a wealth of knowledge, and what is most remarkable is the way you all freely share that info.

Then again, this resource is a double-edged sword. All the beautiful pictures I've seen have me lusting after custom slipjoints, and as of this moment I am on the list for several makers. I won't have them for a while, but eventually I'll be the proud owner of knives from Kerry Hampton, Rick Menefee, Bret Dowell, Joe Allen, Rob Morrow, and Reese Bose.

My wallet will never forgive you guys. :D
