Funny how you continue to predict the future with regards to all of this. Fact is you don't know what you're talking about. You're not in the know about any of this David, and these "the sky is falling" posts concerning all of this is really unproductive. As I have said in threads similar to these, let's let the process play out and see what happens.

Oh and David, I'm not your bro.

Chill out Thomas. Good grief man.

Bro is a figure of speech. Quit attacking people for just saying something.

Who said I was predicting the future? Fine, I guess I don't know what I'm talking about. Yeah I'll listen to the company that has a TON of AO knives that just may soon be illegal and who also just happened to disappear from this forum over night. Let it play out? I really have to choice so that's what I plan to do.

You might be correct if you do not have the ability to keep politics out of a knife discussion forum. We have a political forum here for a reason and that is so we can keep the knife discussion forum centered on the discussion of knives. Bringing politics into the discussion does nothing for a knife discussion forum except escalate and inflame a subject that is not why this forum exists. I more than understand the frustration, please understand why political discussion is not welcome in this particular sub-form and the reasoning behind the rule.

Forget it.

how about no? this isnt a party issue and I dont want to be represented by this group of paranoid racists. If you want to get someone conservative in on it how about shephard smith? I wouldnt want keith olbermaan or rachel maddow in on it either since this is a serious, non partisan issue. Extremists joining your cause almost always has the opposite of intended effect.

Also I just want to point out that if any of you are including words like "socialism" or "communism" or the n word or anything of the like in your letters you are hurting and you should stop.

I said before if it comes down to it we will have to give up our knives. I know it sucks, but we cant always have what we want. Our primary concerns should be getting letters out to try and delay customs action and trying to educate people that knives are tools and not weapons and that includes one handed and assisted opening knives.

Limbaugh, Levin and Hannity are not "paranoid racists." I'm not giving up my guns, knives or anything else an illegal government edict demands--period.

Do you work for the government, or just have no guts or ethics??

This is barely worth replying to but, David what I said was to quit being paranoid to the point of posting nightmare situations. No one knows what is going to happen, let's see what the 21st brings on. We've all voiced our opinions to Customs and our local politicians. There are many working behind the scenes to help the cause.

Not sure what us not having a forum here, or us manufacturing AO's has anything to do with listening to me or not??

We have no chance. We're not a big enough group like the gun people are. They are gonna screw this down hard.

I would pretty much bet a paycheck on the fact that it's a done deal.

As much as that sucks...

The "gun people" are on the same side, though. The NRA does not want this to happen, and the NRA knows how to get its way. I think saying it's a "done deal" is overly pessimistic at this point.

also i will point out there is a loop hole in the law of switch blades as a whole (i dont remember off hand if this is a VA or a fed thing though). if you have justification of needing a "switchblade" in your line of work (or hobby as well but i cant remember for sure if it is also listed) you can usually carry it while doing that activity. granted this comes out to opinions if one needs it but i think it would be applied much easier to assisted opening and "gravity" knives if the was able to make it in to enforcement

Cool joke broski.

For all of your "I wont do what the mean old government tells me" talk, why dont you go and take one of your guns onto school property? Apparently you think you have that right from something greater than the government, so Im sure they wont put you in jail for that. You dont care about what the government says, so do it; show us your guts and your ethics.

Do you work for the government, or just have no guts or ethics??

Its interesting how you insinuate that working for the government is a bad thing. However, I think your fear is best saved for your church service.

What are you afraid of? The NRA has thrown their hand in. So have numerous people who frequent the gun forums. Only the cowardly refuse to fight the good fight before it has even begun. We are not alone and now is not the time to sit on your butt and whimper.

Why in the world would I want to take a firearm onto school property? How is that even remotely related to this discussion? Guts and ethics don't have anything to do with criminal stupidity.

Amusing that you think my comments have anything to do with "fear", let alone 'church service". Consider a move to the UK--they seem to value your mindset there.

quote(You're a bit up tight bro). i would be uptight too if the future of my job/company was on the line.let customs worry about dirty nukes,chemical/bio agents, & rpg's being smuggled in instead of an insane non issue like pocket knives. ....

sad that this thread has so many in fighting between knife users. Focus on fighting the ban, not against ourselves.

You're right, and I for one am sorry I contributed to the thread drift. Bigotry really gets to me, but just as groups can't be categorized and judged by stereotype, the infighting doesn't contribute anything to the issue.

It's just a charged topic, and it's got a lot of people understandably upset. I'm almost surprised there hasn't been more fighting over it.

But, I'm glad to see that the majority of folks are standing together on this issue, even if they have widely differing ideologies and political views.

It makes it a lot harder for our representatives to just dismiss our messages as partisan banter, and realize that this is an issue that will potentially affect a lot of people from all different walks of life.

LOL....So, just checking - everyone has written their letters of objection, yes?

Unfortunately, there are "issues" laying just beneath the surface which are causing this dissension among knife users. Though arguing politics isn't going to bring us together to fight the problem (that was created via "politics"), we need to do our best to put the "politics" on the back burner (at least until after the 30 days expires).

I am as guilty as others for taking the discussion into the wrong realm and I will try to temper my continuing desire to do so. For a while....

LOL....So, just checking - everyone has written their letters of objection, yes?

Yes, I've written my letters and sent tons of email. Obviously to my representatives, but also to every Main Stream Media (MSM) outlet that I could find a contact for.... and yet, I still see NO coverage from the MSM concerning the issue. The NRA's involvement will help... but we need the MSM to at least acknowledge the problem, so that the common man who carries a knife will become aware of it.

It's not time (yet) to play politics. That time will come soon enough and I'll see you all in the political forum (if you folks will quit cheaping out and buy a stinkin' membership which allows access there!!!:p:p:D:D).

What is it about not getting personal in this forum that is so difficult for some of you to understand?

Some of you clowns obviously belong in a grammar school playground rather than participating in a knife forum.
