Customs Says "NO EXTENSION!" - They Want Your Pocket Knives NOW!

Sent my letters in as well. Haven't kept up with the rest of the thread after the first page. Are the big makers weighing in with congress as well? I can see every manufacturer having some serious issues with this moronic rewriting of the law by customs.
 
Got the letters out. I've also been spreading the word to alot of friends and random people to get them to do the same. I was also on the Infowarrior radio show tonight discussing this topic. Hope the word will get out to more people. I've been a knife collector since I was a kid and have been carrying them for years. It's my favorite hobby. We will beat them!!!!!
 
The word is getting out. Just heard talk show host Glenn Beck mentioned briefly on the pocket knife ban today. We need to let guys like this know what's going on. Most people don't even know what's going on.

The AKTI is facing hundreds of thousands of costs for lawyers and lobbyists, this money comes from the manufacturers, the importers and the larger dealers and hopefully the collectors will help as well.

The serious work on this program is being done by these people.

im going to be honest, i dont think trying to get the conservative talk show hosts on it is as helpful as getting the other news out lets (some might say the "crazy liberal media" some might say middle of the road groups) on it. Honestly if i heard Limbaugh talking about this i would have blown him off as crying wolf and ignored it. if we want to hit the media out lets we need to hit them all.

You have a valid point there. Hopefully the other media outlets will sound the alarms also.

i just shot it over to CNN so hopefully they will pick it up

and i want to say thanks to everyone here for keeping it civil, ya there was a bit of political bs here and there but nothing very bad. after seeing the same info posted on another forum (a fire arm forum of medium size) and politely responding when people were being super extremists to the conservative side, getting jumped on for a statement, then being dubbed a troll, words tossed around that i corrected, which lead to a shot ban to reconsider my "positions", it has made remember to not take a place like BF for granted. while we have political differences it seems a lot easier to discuss them here and even discuss regulations with a much more logical tone and come to a better conclusion or at least walk away with agreeing to disagree.

so in short thanks every one

1 to Customs & also...

Senators-Frank R. Lautenberg & Robert Menendez

Representative's Leonard Lance & Donald M. Payne

Governor Jon S. Corzine
 
Here is a list of all of the congress persons and senators that fund the customs people that are tring to ban assisted openers.
Please make a form letters from all of the information you have and go to their email contact form and cut and paste your letter in.
If we control their funds "customs" we stop this action.
This week is crucial in this fight!
Do it asap.

It was on DailyKos. You don't get much more "crazy liberal" than that. And there was only one gun-control nut on there. Shocking.

We have a paper in Dallas and the Benton County paper here in Arkansas.

Goldie and I have rented a large list of newspaper writers, we will see how many of them take this up.

I doubt that any of the talk show host I mentioned carry a knife or have any interest, I am sure that they care about anybodys rights being taken away.

If you have not told every friend you have and given them the tools to message their representatives then you are failing yourself and the cause.
 
Emails and letters sent today. All of my amigos know and will be following suit.
 
In addition to my WV delegation, I sent emails to WV Governor Manchin and Alaska Governor Palin requesting that they quickly investigate the matter and make their postion known to Customs and their Washington DC delegation.
 
Additionally, I don't see too much reason for concern. Stress is a killer you know?! If they aren't going to ban guns, they definitely aren't going to ban something that even anti-gun people carry... or at least own and use.
