Cutlery Proposals for the Bladeforums 2015 Knife

So stop brooding & gaping at this and get over there and vote! :D:D:thumbup:

I hope as many people with serious buying intentions as possible will vote and that the thread doesn't get filled up by chance visitors registering their whim...

We can only hope-

Charlie, Thank you for shepherding our project along once again. With your guidance we have really nice, very usable alternatives.
I like Canal Streets design and voted for 440c steel.

The first poll is up, choosing steel only (440C or 1095); it's stickied to the top of the forum. I believe the chance to choose between knives will come a bit later on.

Thanks for the info, i have voted there and was interested to note that for a group who are so keen on patina the 440c has polled well ahead of 1095.

OMR.

There are many well established members here who have campaigned for a stainless traditional blade forums knife for many years. I think that unfortunately for that crowd they were always in a minority and so missed out in the past.

I also suspect that the changing demographic of the porch has undoubtedly influenced this years vote in many ways. It has been interesting to watch it unfold. Sometimes great fun and sometimes cringe
-worthy, but either way it has been fascinating.

I think i will give my so far unused Amber Bone SS Peanut a turn in my peanut pocket.

Like the pattern. Not big on wood scales though. I have a shadow Case with jigged bone and it's a pretty little thing though the edges are there and not rounded.

The proposed pattern (I like the clip and sheepsfoot as a nice combo.) would be sweet in bone with the rounded edge shape the samples display. Imagine that slim little CSC pattern with even some smooth bone shaped the same as the wood is. Might be just the perfect little "What knife for dress slacks or Sunday suit?" threads answer.

Here is the Case to give a visual of the scales. NOT a pattern suggestion! Just mentally overlay the bone onto the CSC knives shown to get the idea.
