Cutlery Proposals for the Bladeforums 2015 Knife

After more random browsing I am voting 440c and cocobolo in the shadow or micarta in the GEC

I've been silent on this lately but..........

I'm still in for the CSC shadow, satin blades, clip and sheep (lowered, opposite side nail nick). I guess it depends on the wood used. I want mine to be grainy!

But oh man the GEC is making up some considerable ground. AHHHH CRIPES, I though I had my mind made up!!!

Still CSC by a long shot for me. I have an unnatural dislike for 440C, but will use it on knives I make, so it's something I can get over. It's just a better, more unique knife to me.

Honestly for me the GEC would have to be along the lines of a Spey main/coping secondary, or the current configuration in a different scale material before I get excited about it. It's just a jack knife to me, and I love GEC! I don't really see much special about this knife- it doesn't ring my bell the same way the CSC does. I'll most likely get either if I can afford it, but would make sure I will afford the CSC! I like the current wood, or olive- but trust that CSC knows what they have availible/cost effective/looks and hard use ready! I'll leave it in their hands!

Just my opinion, and with exchange rates lower than I was expecting😳, it's worth even less than I thought!

CSC's 440C is good stuff. I have it on the "moonpie" 4 1/8" trapper. It takes a great edge. I'd be very happy with this in 440C and either bocote, cocobolo, or something similar:

I'm still torn between the two possible knives. I look forward to the poll or vote on steel. Maybe the choice of steel will steer us more towards one or the other knife.

Here's the deal; there will be a poll or two or three, as decided by Charlie. Everyone that has a serious interest in the forum knife has the chance to vote. When the votes are in the decision has been made. You can decide if you want to purchase or not. Your call.

This is supposed to be fun. If you can't have fun with it, stay out. Bashing one company or another will not be tolerated in this forum. The two contenders have invested time and money in this process already, they deserve better. I thank them both for stepping up.

Thanks Gary! That really needed to be said. Both of these two companies are led by standup people and put out quality products! I will get what ever is selected by the members. This forum operates on different level than others in that being rude and mean is not tolerated (just speaking as a fellow member)! I really want to thank everyone involved to this point for the hard work, and thick skin. Waynorth especially has been fanatsic in doing the heavy lifting.

So stop brooding & gaping at this and get over there and vote! :D:D:thumbup:

I hope as many people with serious buying intentions as possible will vote and that the thread doesn't get filled up by chance visitors registering their whim...

INOX:cool:

Thought I would throw my ten cents in the mix.

I enjoy this forum and will be honored to pocket any knife produced with the bladeforums stamp. I'm not one for stainless or even this certain pattern, but if that is what becomes of it I'll enjoy it all the same because it will remind me of who the folks are on here. I could list positives traits of this traditional subforum, but I have already written enough to bore people. The knife means more to me than a tool, collectable piece, or another piece of cutlery to play with, it reminds me of the family like atmosphere and the friends I have made.

I will be proud to buy, carry, and use whatever you guys decide on. That's my ten cents.

I can get behind that.

Well put Brett- could not have said it better myself (and that's saying something:rolleyes:).
I Remember recently some Mr. Negative troll got on here and had a bit of a go for some reason known only to them self. It got warned off by our big scary mods and lurked off into the depths.
Hopefully never to be heard from again.
My response was- for me its about the comradeship (brotherhood in non pc olden day talk:yawn:) the connection that links us across the globe. It's amazing and I feel lucky and proud to belong.
