The DNR puts a ton of money into the trout streams in northeast iowa. We fished waterloo creek, little paint, and Big bear. If you want something closer to home, Sommerset lake is just a few miles south of des moines. DNR stocks it pretty regularly.

Okay, now I'm worried,,, just got a call from my local gunshop and he had received a call from the importer of H&K for Belgium,,, seems there was discussion for awhile about the continued production of the new HK45 pistol ?!?

They decided to continue production, but delivery has been postponed 'till at least the end of July,,, :(

Anybody aware of problems with the new HK45 pistol ?

All reviews I read seemed very positive about it ?

Cheebs, I see a lot of guys with pistols come through here for class, 1000 rds in 2 days, most pistols choke, except glocks, the more expensive the pistol, the more they sit on the ground, I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin, but everyone has a preference, and as we all know Looks and performance are 2 different things,, (like chisels)

Well, I've owned another H&K (USP 9mm) for over a decade now and never had any problems with it,,, must have shot at least a couple of thousand rnds of various brand ammo through it aswell,,,

I carry and shoot a G19/G17 at work, but I just don't like the trigger-pull all that much,,, otherwise handling and performance is outstanding of course,,, (much like a chisel grind :D)

,,,and the HK45 isn't that more pricey overhere then a G21 (is that the .45 ACP model ?) any way,,,

Understood. I have owned a few myself. With no trouble. but I see trouble with them during high round counts when things get gritty, I just see it, but I'm no expert, for police or range shooters they are great, except they are as wide as a desert eagle, combat handgun where mags and pistol are stressed, sw m&p's and glocks, its my opinion,

On expensive. I mostly am talkin bout 1911's. Around here race gun, means the unreliability package,,

I think that's probably mainly due to the very high tolerances on those very expensive race guns,,,

BTW, no trouble for H&K shooting lots of rounds in one go,,, check this out,,,

,,,and this link (in English !) about the pistol I currently own,,, H&K USP Torture Testing

The Glock indeed has a sleeker profile and is easier to carry then the USP, which was a bit blocky, but that issue seems to be addressed with the new HK45,,,

I think both are made for hard-use/harsh environment,,, and both excel in this,,,

I have seen the tests bro, lol, I just know what I see, u asked, I spoke, its your money buy what u want, I have 3 ar's that I wouldn't trade for my one ak, at the right time, does that mean they are shit,, no,, I have a opinion and a wallet, so do u,

nearly 15000 rds through my glock21 and i've broken a trigger pin and trigger spring. both were $1 parts and neither caused the gun to fail. i've owned every gun from a jennings 9mm to a custom built 1911 to a HK tactical .45, but the only one is still own and carry is a glock. if you don't like the feel of the trigger, its very easy to put in a different disconnector and trigger spring. food for thought:)

You probably have much more experience, mang,,,

Just, that, if I change my mind now about which gun, I have to run the gauntlet of red-tape again for another license !,,, and I want a .45 ACP pistol THIS year ;):D

Gun-laws in Belgium suck rotten eggs !!!

the HK tactical and 1911 I owned would probably shoot silver dollars at 50 yards off of a rest, but at the end of the day, silver dollars aren't usually threatening my life. I'd rather have the glock that goes "bang" everytime. and by "evertime", I mean "evertime". It never malfunctions. Even one malfunction in 500 rounds is unacceptable. You'd hate for the one malfunction to come at the wrong time. don't get me wrong, Glocks aren't inaccurate. They are "combat accurate". They are accurate and reliable enough to stop threats when necessary. I can hit steels offhand at 75yrds no problem. I'll get off my soapbox now :)

Dude your buying a great handgun, I am just saying there is a time and place for every gun made, some are too big some too small, some to loud, some are made for throwing away,, you have made a good choice for you,, that's all that matters, I got rid of my 92 beretta, not because it sucked, it just sucks to take on and off manual safetys when your trying to learn to gunfight, when you could just put your bugger hook on that bang switch and get busy, lol

gotta start somewhere mang! it was the kind that jerm said "was made to throw away". That was in college when Bud Light was considered a "top shelf beverage":D

chibbi not dissin your pistol choice, just letting you know what i've seen. there is no "right answer". whether it's gear, weapons, etc. You use what works for you. especially if HK is the same price as Glock. run that f'er to failure(if that ever happens) and reassess. I will run something until it fails and then figure out why it failed and how to avoid failure in the future. .45 is a low pressure round so it's a lot easier on a weapon platform than other calibers. make sure you train how you fight. varying temps, rain, snow, mud, etc.
