Monsoon like rain on Friday then yesterday and today blue skies and gale force winds and an awesome 5 star hotel!

Nah, its my Brother's...he wanted me to take some pics of it. He has been buying a nice knife for Father's Day last couple years. Just got this one last week at Bass Pro while he was there. It's pretty as heck but not my cup'a'tea

My daughter won her Roller Derby bout last night a the Filmore auditorium. She is the one with the star on her helmet, jamming in this pic. She knocked those girls down and flew through to score the winning points getting huge cheers from the crowd.

Adding a pic I think is pretty neat. Me sitting there watching the girls warm up before the doors were open to the public.

Yep. Just tossed with some flour and fried in butter and canola oil, then salted.
I don't know if they grow where you are, but now it the time to look. Everything is about a month early here this year, so it may not be the same for you.
That asparagus came out of the yard, too.
Good stuff.

someone needs to caption this picture. Your daughter looks like an all star and that girl in the background with her hand up is funny. Looks like an awesome sport, how is the score counted/kept?

10 girls on the track, 5 from each team. Each team has 1 girl with a star on her helmet. She is called the Jammer, she is the only one who can score points for her team. She gets 1 point for each player on the other team she can pass. The other 4 girls are blockers. Their job is to stop the other teams jammer from scoring points while helping their jammer get past the other team. They start at a whistle blow and take off around the track, the first jammer to pass the other team becomes the lead jammer and the referee blows his whistle and points at her. She can now score points, then she does her best to lap the whole track and get past the other team again. For each one she passes on her 2nd time around her team gets one point, she then tries to keep lapping them getting as many points as she can in the 2 minute round.

You cant kick, punch, elbow, or hit anyone from behind or in the face. You can hit with shoulders, hips and butt. Referees call penalty's and send players off the track to a penalty box for 1 or 2 minutes depending on your penalty. Your team may not replace the player and must continue to play short handed until the player does their time.

There are referees on skates inside and outside the track, scorekeepers in the middle of the track writing down penalty's and points. Points are displayed on a scoreboard and there is an announcer screaming through a PA at the audience.

It is a lot of fun.
