Vintage Othello (Anton Wingen Jr.) 4375 dagger from the early '80's, complete with leather sheath with steel beltclip on the reverse.
The thick blade with ovalized ricasso is most likely made from drop-forged 440C steel, a process that Anton Wingen Jr. used to be famous for in it's day.
Handle is polished Micarta with brass guard & pommel.
Imo a good example of the quality that came out of Solingen only a few decades ago.

Vintage French dagger from the Airborne Foreign Legion 1er Republic France Algeria Indochina (1948-1961)
Background on this regiment: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_Fo...chute_Regiment

This example that recently came out of the woodwork is marked on the ricasso: "Rodrigues 1880 Amsterdam".
In pre-internet days this was a well-known hardware store in the Netherlands, and with an owner who was a knife afi with a fondness for quality.
Sadly he and his wife died in 1977 in the Tenerife aircrash, while going on the first holiday of their life.
They had no successors.

Specs:

Overall length: 11.6 inch (29,5 cm)
Blade length: ~7 inch (18,0 cm)
Max blade thickness (ricasso): 4,7 mm
Steel: drop-forged stainless steel
Guard: stainless steel
Handle materials: Fiber and brass
Weight: 241 grams (handle heavy)
Sheath: leather with 4 metal studs

Vintage French Foreign Legion dagger from the '60's or '70's by French manufacturer Begon in very nice condition.
Based on the Fairbairn-Sykes model, but with a lighter overall weight and fitted with a characteristically shorter handle (which is hollow and can be weighted to alter the balance)
The blade has never been sharpened and still has the factory flat edges.

Specs:

Overall length: 29,0 cm
Blade length: 18,5 cm
Maximum blade thickness (ricasso): 4,68 mm
Steel: forged stainless steel
Guard: polished stainless steel
Handle material: impact resistant black plastic
Pommel: polished brass
Sheath: black leather
Weight (without sheath): 122,8 gram
