A little short for what you have specified. I am in the market eventually for Randall model 2 which can be had in a & inch blade and 8 inch as well, with a wide variety of handle styles and materials. It can also be had in carbon or stainless steel.

or a Randal Model 1-8 with sawteeth grind but no sawteeth. I own this one and could possibly be talked out of it.

For me, this thread has been very educational. Admittedly, I'm not much of a "dagger" guy. Obviously, they're kinda' "one note" when it comes to intended usage.

I gave my ol' Gerber "Command 2" to my nephew but still have my Ontario M3. Despite that, I agree with norcalAF norcalAF . For some reason, the Defiant 7 M320, in 3V, REALLY appeals to me. I find it very sexy...in a "displayed on the bookshelf" kinda' way. Hell, I almost bit the bullet and purchased one.

Did someone say D7 and dagger?! Mine is the N690 variant, but the tiger stripe brings out the 80s action star in me. My m320 is an early run with full G10 handles and no butt cap/skull crusher. I recently got in another m320 that is destined for a buddy that has the newest style handle and it is awesome as well, I just love my tiger stripe too much! The Rook is just plain awesome! The sheaths from Chattanooga leather are fantastic as well!PXL_20250409_025543361.MP.jpgPXL_20250409_025549346.jpgPXL_20250409_025604346.jpgPXL_20250409_025612060.jpg

Man, those are just COOL.

Vintage first model French paratrooper dagger from the 1950's and/or 1960's.
On the steel guard it reads "Poignard de Combat" and "Special Beret Rouge", which translates into something like: "combat poniard for red berets"

Blade length: 7.08 inches (18.0 cm)
Max blade thickness: 4.82 mm
Steel type: drop-forged carbon steel
Handle materials: steel guard with blackened brass handle (can be disassembled & weighted)
Sheath: black leather
Weight without sheath: 261.7 grams
Weight with sheath: 300 grams

AG Russell Sting I and a Sting II, both originals from 1977 and complete with sheaths in their original boxes.
These knives were bought by a Dutch collector in the manufacturing year, and both were never used or even sheathed and spent over 30 years in a closet.
They are as pristine as they were on the day they were made.

The Sting daggers were made by Anton Wingen Jr. in Solingen, Germany under their Othello brand, and were hot drop-forged from a single piece of 440C stainless steel.
The ones in the pictures were meant for the European market only, as they carry both the AG Russell name & the Othello head, while the US versions were marked with the AG Russell name only.

Although the knives are no longer in my collection, i can still share the pics i took of them back then.

Sting II with inlayed Coral Rucarta handle panels.
Integral one-piece construction made by Solingen manufacturer Anton Wingen Jr. for AG.Russell USA, and the knife pictured is the European version with both logo's on the blade (the US version only has AG.Russell's logo)
The Sting II is the larger version of the earlier production Sting I

Specs:

Overall length: 7.95 inch (20.2 cm)
Blade length: 3.74 inch (9.5 cm)
Maximum blade thickness (ricasso): 4.3 mm
Handle material: Coral Rucarta (burgundy red Micarta)

Weight (knife + sheath): 195.0 grams

I received the Raider…The blade grinds are symmetrical. Both sides are sharp enough to bite into my fingernail when dragged across and they come together to form a rather long hyperdermic needle point at the tip.

Fit and finish are excellent as well. The scales are grippy and hug/fit the guard area and tang closely. The jimping on the tang is well executed. Its prominent while not being too aggressive. It balances comfortably in the hand.

So far so good 👍🏾
