Damn I Got Lyme Disease!!!

Lyme sucks. I work as a claims analyst for Social Security's disability program and I've seen a few uncaught cases. It will F*ck you up. Remember syphilis is a spirochete too just like lyme and think how it f*cked people up.

They now say the tick has to be on you for 36 hours to transmit the disease . Don't put off treatment !! I have a friend who got it before it was identified - she's had serious problems ever since !!!...BTW The warmer weather that Europe has had has brought large increases in insect populations !! And they can and do have Lyme disease !!!

okay i got the meds

doxycycline EG 200mg 20 days one pill a day
an NO yoghurt to go with it, this and dairy products dont mix

it was such an example case that another doctor was brought in to take a look aswell to learn identification?

altho i tawt that the docteress was coming onto me afterwards when she asked what studies i had done and what i am doing lately with my free time and all, lol

Good news! A friend of mine didn't listen when I told him to get meds and was out of work and bed ridden for 6 months! Best of luck and get better!

You are definitely doing the right thing by nipping it in the bud now instead of allowing the disease to progress.

I know someone who was diagnosed only after the disease did severe damage. She went through a long treatment period and still has problems. She got it before most doctors were familiar with Lyme.

yeah, i get the impression it seems to be a quite new phenomenon

now that i've done the right thing, infected or not, no time to be sad
i got new knives in the mail today:

must go practice throwing :D

I appreciate this thread, as I had no idea what a typical Lyme Disease infected tick bite looked like.

Thanks for the service, folks.

BTW, that pic above this post..............dunno why, but it makes me nervous !!

.

I wouldn't bring those black babies with you to Poland :thumbdn:

Smart thing to get treatment, now get well soon, and enjoy your blades and life!

CZ

yeah i bought them for throwing

i do intend to bring my F1 and multitool to poland, but in my luggage of course

SEE DOCTOR NOW!!! If cought early it is easier to deal with, if not you WILL be sorry. It gets worse with time.

Thanks for the Lyme tutorial, showed my wife the pic as a "what to look for", we go into tick country at least once a week, been lucky so far. Good luck with the meds.

Well, the antibiotics seem to be working well.

The red spot has allmost competely dissapeared.

still alot of pills to go before its over.

I hate not getting drunk during the weekends grrrr

Absolutely the problem with antibiotics. Just think how good a beer will taste when you are done. It is worth it!

You know how F'd up that physicist Stephen Hawking is with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)? Lyme disease can mess you up just as bad.

can it fk you up that bad? damn

but the way i see it is was like this first u go cripple, then insane and then when it gets to the heart, u die.

heh, i bought a few non alcoholic beers, but that was no fun :D
