Damn you BladeForums

Ha-ha! I'm a member on Head-fi, here, and a shaving forum.

Off topic, if you guys haven't tried shaving with a double edged safety razor before, go get one. It has changed my young, 19 year old life.

Changed how? ;) Heck, when I was 19, if I used a razor, I could go 1-2 weeks between shaves. :)

So, I thought the order of addiction around here should be.... guns, knives, then more guns, then, uh, more knives.

You know, it wasn't too many years ago that I also didn't have any one knife that cost over $30. Then one day I picked up a Kershaw Blur. Within a few months, I had most of the Kershaw Onions. Then spotted a ZT. Boy did I slide into a major knife addiction. Now I have major withdrawals if I don't get a fix every other day. ;)

Haha! I'm half Scot and half German. I have to shave every day, sometimes twice.

I shaved this morning at five am. Used my Edwin Jagger DE89 with a Derby blade and I was baby smooth, minus my goatee.

Lord L6 with Astra SP blades, or Bump Fighter handle with Personna Twin Pivot Plus cartridges are what I use. I have been leaning towards the latter as of late as it's just easier and provides a better shave.

Just another addiction but fortunately with this one it at least saves you money by not buying those expensive cartridges for your razor as you can easily pick up packs of 100 DE blades for $10-20 depending on what you want. And you get a superior shave. Though I think a lot of us have low standards considering we shave our arms with our knives

Plus the more money we save on shaving means more money on knives, so go join a shave forum today! And think about it if you buy a straight razor you can sharpen it on your water stones and you if don't have some nice water stones well guess what you have an excuse to do so now. And it will pull double duty you can sharpen your razor and your knives on it, that means more savings right?

I started with flea market knives and then I joined BFC, not that long after i got my pm2 & ZT 0561 within a week of eachother.

Darn you blade forums!!
When I joined this site 3 Days ago the most expensive knife I wanted was the paramilitary 2 now after finding this site and the "show us your striders" thread I want a $400 strider!!

Better zip tie your wallet closed because your money will be flying out at the speed of sound.

Or find a knife that you fall in passionate love with. Mine is the Rate District 9. I haven't pined over a different knife since getting it.

Wow, almost two whole weeks, you're totally cured!

I was a little shocked when I rounded things up for the what knives did you buy this summer thread. 13 weeks in summer, 13 knives. My lucky number.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :D:D:D:D:D:D
I love this, because I really have the same issue, though I was likely destined for this path one way or another since even before I joined BladeForums I already had a ZT, and I was thinking about getting a Spyderco PM2.

Now, I have several customs, and my most frequent EDC knives recently have been a Bodega and my Shirogorov 95T M390...yeah, I have a problem...

And now I have just gotten into traditional folders as well, so I also now carry at least one custom slipjoint on every weekday, and I have just gotten in an Anthony Griffin Lanny's small Clip flipper, am working on a trade for an Olamic Cutlery Wayfarer that will be all fitted to my preferences, and just won a GAW on IG for a Southern Grind Spider Monkey...yeah, this will probably end up being 3 new knives in 2 weeks, totally at least $1200 coming in to me...

Hi, my name is Charr, and I have a problem...

A Bodega and a Shirogorov. You have it baaad!

Oh yeah, but at least that's as bad as it's gotten for now...it used to be a little worse since I think I've owned in total at least 12 Shirogorovs, almost one of every standard model, and several of the same in various different configurations and steel choices. Had to go through quite a few to find the one I really wanted enough to use and carry it for a long time ;)

I still (mostly) adhere to my own personal rule about never buying a knife that is more than $1000 unless it has been on my grail list for a long time (more than 1 year), and I know I will be able to bring myself to carry and use it. Only ones on that list that I'm still missing are a Hoback A15 and a Stan Wilson Advisor...with the A15 definitely being the more realistic of those two purchases. Just can't find any chances for myself to ever own an Advisor, even if I managed to have the money constantly at the ready (which is hard with all of the smaller lovely knives that keep showing up ;) ).

Oh well, I've learned to live with my affliction :D

Lol. Three hours without looking at knives is a long time for me

Yeah, I can definitely relate to that, I am more addicted to this site than I am a shelling out hundreds on a single knife, but then again I am only three months in! I'm probably a little older than the median age on here and have learned to budget myself on my hobbies, with kids in college that happens, then on the other hand building a small collection from scratch there are numerous knives in the $30-100 range that I don't have that I have on my list and all of these have been raved about on this site, even that seems like over kill to me! I guess you could still call that an addiction, it just hasn't gotten out of hand...........yet!

Knife Hobbiest/Addict Mantra: Must. Have. .....

lol :thumbup::D:D:D

Lol, oh my bad, disregard, from over a year ago...shrug...still applies tho... :)

The CRK thing is always funny. I had to timidly work myself up to it. Chatting to my wife about its virtues until she finally got sick of hearing me chat about it and broke down, got me one for Xmas.

That was a fun Xmas. Of course the interest in knives just doesn't stop.
