Dang, we getting old

Oh, to be 45 again! Those were the good old days for sure. Enjoy the next 20 years, young man.

Just turned 65 myself. Long ago I used to look forward to that number because it meant I would be able to retire. Hah! Maybe in 3 more years if I make it that far.

Heck I probably won't even wear out this Texas Jack before I kick the bucket, let alone the other 100+ pocket knives I accumulated. At least you are still young enough to use some of yours up, Ryan.

Lol I have way too many to carry one long enough to use one up 😂

I just looked it up. I joined this forum back in 2010. I was 32, now I 44 and will be 45 in 13 days.

I am approaching porch elder status!

Anyways I just having a middle aged moment.
But here's a knife pic to keep it on topic 😜

You're going to be 45?

Like in 45 years of age?????

Man, you've just barely knocked the dew off the Lilly! I'd give anything to be 45 again. The 40's is a great time; young enough to go do anything you want, and old enough to begin to know your limits so theres less ER visits. Lemmie tell ya, I'm at an age now where they have to be replacing parts, and it AIN'T fun. Rejoice in being a young guy. You're not on first name basis with a cardiologist or orthopedic surgeon. You're not carrying around the little bottle of meds that give you a better life through chemicals. You don't have a depressingly growing list of things you can't do anymore, and after driving for a few hours, having to spend some minutes after pulling in at the highway rest stop just trying to straiten up to stand up and walk to the rest room to go pee.

Man, at 45, I didn't have jack to complain about, things were still working pretty much as factory original designed. Things don't really begin to be a bummer until the late 60's, early 70's. Thats when you get a closer familiarity with pain, and the after effects of " But I used to be able to do that without it hurting this much!"

Oh man, be anywhere close to 45 again.

45? You're not even eligible for AARP yet. It will be at least 10 years until you can even think about applying for geezerdom.

Just a pup 🐶

He'll get there before he knows it ! 😊

Happy Birthday in 12 days now ............................ see, I said you would get there before you know it. My son just turned 40. You were almost a Christmas child !😊

Everyone wants to live long, nobody wants to get old. Go figure.

Dan.

LOL ................ a lot of truth in that !😊

Well I'll be 44 in march, awhile back I complained about a ache to my Dad. He said I wasn't old enough yet to complain, to which I responded "it isn't the age of the truck, its the milage"

That is true.😊

That's what my mother always claimed. She apparently insisted that they let me go so she could take me to my Christmas

I was a little shy of 48 when I joined BF. I'm 61 now. That transition from late 40s to early 60s brings some big changes in aging. Really opens the eyes about all things. Years ago, when I was still in my early-mid 30s, I worked with a sassy young lady who was barely past high school age. Kind of looked at her like a kid sister, as she was always giving me a hard time in a playful way. She called me 'Fossil' back then. By that standard, I guess now that I'm into my 60s, my nickname would be 'Dust'. 😊

Knife below might actually be older than me. A 1950-64 Case Peanut. I envy how good it looks even today. It's aged much more gracefully than I have.

I thought of that song when I read Dan's post too :D:thumbsup:

Check my join date

I turned 58 yesterday
Happy Birthday! 🥳

It seems to me that intervening in the "Carl's Lounge" at only 45 years old is against the rules of this forum.
"Off topic rambling and rumination" are only for really old members.

Dan
I'll have to cogitate on that 🤔
