Just FYI for those out there, I noticed someone on ebay selling sebenzas, using Neils pictures from True North Knives. I asked Neil about it and he said it's DANTHEMAN123 who is stolen his pictures to sell knives he doesn't even have.

He asked seller to quit, but was told to F&*^ OFF, ebay has not been helpful either at this point.

Here's a link to the ebay seller in question -

Hi Cougar Allen

DANTHMAN123 on BF is indeed teresa1057 on eBay.

He is using my photos, without permission, using my text from my website without permission.

If you look closely, you will see that he copied and pasted much of the verbiage from my website descriptions of the Chris Reeve knives.

He is claiming to have received these knives direct from Chris Reeve- which is not true. He claims to have "all designs in stock"- he has nothing.

I realize that you have to be fair here on BF and that is fine. But, what this guy is doing is wrong, unethical and, in MY opinion fraudulent and illegal.

He is selling merchandise that he does not have.
I am neither his business partner nor his buddy.
I am not going to supply him with knives.

As all these knives appear to be coming from me, then my reputation could be jeopardized when he takes their money and never delivers anything.

I want to thank DaveH for bringing this to my attention.

Neil

Well, if that's the case, Dan needs a Ban. Can't you report this to Ebay and have them help out in some way??? I think I'd be finding a nice lawyer to write a cease-and-desist letter. Whatta putz!

Well, yeah, and we have to look at evidence. We're making progress, but an assertion is just the beginning....

I can see teresa1057 is using your pictures and didn't remove your copyright notice. I don't see the text on your website but I haven't had time to do much searching....

What evidence do you have that teresa1057 is DANTHEMAN123?

Have you informed teresa1057 that you object to having your pictures and text stolen? What response did you get?

We don't really need to be told stealing your pictures and text is illegal and unethical and wrong -- I think we all know that. There are still some things we don't know, though, especially the link between teresa1057 and DANTHEMAN123.

Here is Neil's description (on his website) of CRK Sebbies. . .

The Chris Reeve frame-lock folding knife that has become the yardstick against which others are compared, the Chris Reeve SEBENZA , has earned a worldwide reputation for rock solid performance and a "bank vault" feel. The Regular model Sebenza knife was introduced in 1996, replacing the first or original Sebenza profile that had been introduced in 1990. In 2000, because so many customers had asked for the original profile,

Chris Reeve introduced the Classic Sebenza in 2000. Both the Regular and Classic versions - tumbled or "stonewashed" S30V blades with bead blasted or decorated handles - to those with Damascus blades and lavish graphics, each Chris Reeve Sebenza knife is individually fitted to the closed tolerances. Available in large or small, Classic (left) or Regular (right), and dedicated right or left handed.

. . . .and. . . .

SMALL REGULAR SEBENZA. 4" closed, 3" CPM S30V Stonewash finish blade.
Blue Anodized Titanium Thumb lug. Thumb notches, phosphor-bronze washers, bead blast titanium rear handle with integral side-lock. Blast Titanium front handle . Polished stainless screws, pins & pivot. Blue Anodized Titanium backspacer washer. Thonghole, bead blast titanium clip.

I sent DANTHEMAN123 an e-mail message (he doesn't have an e-mail addy listed) directing him to this thread. :D Curious what he has to say. LMAO

Well… teresa1057 has been selling tattooing products, which is interesting because DANTHEMAN123 is a tattoo artist (click). That's not evidence of anything though and I’m sure Mr. Ostroff has something more substantial to share.

It’s kind of funny (or sad) how the seller didn’t even bother to remove the TrueNorthKnives.com copyright from the pics he or she posted. :thumbdn:

I sent an eBay message to teresa1057 about his/her unauthorized us of Neil's pic's and descriptions.

eBay email response from teresa1057:

thanks for the heads up.fuck off.

I just checked teresa1057's eBay current listings, concerning the CRK Sebbies, and none are active. I wasn't paying attention. . . . .were are of the auctions supposed to end: Jun-08-06 11:23:54 PDT ?

I couldn't find any current listings for teresa1057 either. Maybe eBay actually responded to the complaint or the seller saw this and withdrew all of the items.

Either way, I can hardly wait to see the response by

DANTHEMAN123

There where a large number of listings this morning. So either the scammer or ebay pulled them.

Good God... I was hoping for something more creative, but that response is still pretty funny. :D

He or she ended all of their Sebenza listings early. For example: in this auction.

Also, they are both from a small town in Wales called Swansea.

Hadley a coincidence, in my opinion.

Thanks, Neil

Thanks for the link. The POS even left the TNK logo on the photos.
