Dark Ops Bad Rap

That Benchmade pushdagger reminds me of the Bowen "bust me" buckle, and looks like it'd be uncomfortable in one's hand. I've already got about half a dozen pushdaggers in my collection, don't need another unless it's really something special . . . and I know if Dork Ops ever comes out with one, it'll be sick & wrong, so I'll just have to buy it.

1. Their Ridiculous ad campaign and marketing.

2. They are Blatant ripoffs of Extrema Ratio knives.

That about sums it up.

3. Their insane over-pricing of their products.

4. They have an obsurd amount of talent when it comes to designing inefficient blade profiles.

Dark Ops is to knives as Xtreeme Shock is to ammunition. They work, its true. But Dark ops aren't any better than a benchmade, yet they cost twice as much. Similar to the way that Xtreeme Shock isnt any better than a glasser Safety slug, yet they cost over twice as much. ($1.56 per round of 9mm at my local gun store....AND PEOPLE BUY IT!)

I just got a Hellfire and it doesnt compare to less lumened (is that a word?) surefire or even streamlight lights. It seems tough enough to be run over by a tank but the beam quality is low in my opinion. There's plenty of surefires, m3's, etc that can be mounted on an AR.

ahh thanks, I guess I will look that way then.

a dollar fifty a round of 9mm? My God....buying a week's worth of ammo might as well be buying a whole new gun...

I think the same writers from dork ops had a hand in writing this:
It's a new war, and our nations best warriors now carry the world's most devastating ammunition! As we entrust the de-fense of our freedom in our finest professionals, they now carry an advantage beyond their own heroism! Over ten years in co-development with Special Operations Groups and Federal Law Enforcement, the new ExtremeShock™ Explosive Entry tactical defense rounds represent the ultimate refinement in lethal bullet technology. The compressed Tungsten-NyTrilium™ Composite fragments upon impact, leaving a wound channel of catastrophic proportions. The expansive fragmentation characteristics of the ExtremeShock rounds transfer the bullets energy in a far faster time span than conventional hollowpoints. The resulting stopping power is utterly devastating. E-Shock rounds are engineered to expend maximum energy into soft targets, turning the density mass into an expanding rotational cone of NyTrilium matrix particles, causing neurological collapse to the central nervous system.

All their knives are god awful to look at, and from what I have heard the quality isn't much better than the looks.

At lease the ER knives that they copied them from, while still being ugly as sin, work well and are solidly built.

Murder never sounded quite so....infomercially.

The ammo sounds cool, but I'd really like to have controlled blood spray.

No doubt, those bullets don't even have bood grooves, and I bet you can see them with infa red goggles too. How sucky is that?

AAANNNDDD!, it came in a cheap plastic package that looked cheesy, the instructions were not included, the four so-called window smashing prongs get in the way of the supposed 140 lumen beam, the clip isn't flush for what would have to be cargo pant carry, and I just noticed the paint starting to chip even though it's been sitting in a pocket of a 5.11 jacket most of the time (I'd rather have one well made 5.11 jacket then any of dark ops knives or lights). Any way we can start a light sub-forum? There seems to be an interest in tac lights and there must be hundreds of us that can share their opinions on whats good? Me, absolute favorites out of two dozen or so I have, Surefire 8nx, IT m3, Streamlight 20x (I believe its called, the polymer rechargeable).

wow thats horrible...thanks, you have completely swayed my decision :). Besides those other manufacterers you turned me too seem to have some higher quality stuff anyway. I'll look into those models you have also.

i really like this "turning the density mass into an expanding rotational cone of NyTrilium matrix particles, causing neurological collapse to the central nervous system.":foot:

Me too. i can just SEE some Mall Ninja all dressed up in his "Swat" gear, with a Dark ops straped to his leg, and a Glock loaded with "Air Freedom" rounds. :D

Not if I see him first and get him with a Cold Steel blowgun loaded with poisoned bamboo sliver darts. :grumpy:

Explosive Entry Air Freedom Round

At first I thought it was some APIT round or something for a pistol and then read on about how it's basically just a way to take peoples money. Kind of like most of Hornady's TAP line (mostly ballistic tip varmint ammo) but 30X worse.

and a Glock loaded with "Air Freedom" rounds.

Come on a Glock? Real mall ninjas carry USP's.

Dang...YOUR RIGHT! I cant believe I missed that! USP Tacticools or Mark 23's are the only pistols officialy endorsed by the Mall Ninjas of America.

I am in extreme shock that people can be so contemptuous of the dark operations that keep our nation free of Al-Qaeda bodily fluids.

No, only the HIGHEST order of mall ninja is certified to carry a USP. The others are restricted to Airsoft carry only.
