Darn you BRKT!!!

Leather sheath questions were answered well. It is truly a great an functional design.

The leather sheath was first designed for the belt--and then we thought, "hey, this would work on the neck too."

BUT it is an optional sheath. the sheath that comes with it looks like this

I have to admit that when I saw the first the knife without any slabs I wasn't too impressed, but after seeing the slab options and the knife all dressed up, I'm really liking this. I think I'm gonna seriously consider getting one of these.

Could you get a tek-lok for the standard kydex sheath and wear it on a belt if you wanted?

Would be great if...they offered the blade in mirror polish finish. Then I'd bite.

My list of must have Bushcraft/Survival Knife Features: 4-6 inches blade length, Drop Point, Full tang, Pommel end must take a pounding, Half or integral guard, Polished or satin blade finish, Orange Handles, Lanyard Hole, Any steel -no preference, price point $200 or less (don't need a custom or expensive knife to do what it has to do to help me survive)

Um, have you taken a look at Randall's prices and waiting list lately? I think their wait time is about 5 years out now. And last time I checked, they don't make a necker. Or stock-reduction knives for that matter.

You could get a maker here on the forums to make a similar knife, but I think the price Bark River is asking is far from unreasonable. It's more or less exactly what I expected. If the RAT Izula were made from 12c27, I would imagine the price would be almost identical. Remember, the Izula doesn't come with scales either, RAT doesn't even offer them.

12c27 is great stuff. :thumbup:If you're familiar with Bark River's quality, the price seems more than fair.

Couldn't have said it better myself :D

I also think it's a great deal. It's only $20 more than the Rat Izula.

$20 is nothing to me. I've spent that on lunch.

I know Rat Cutlery is working on scales for the IZULA. When they do, they will be very popular!

I wonder if there are any updates on availability of those Izula scales. I am liking this BRKT Necker too though. Better rust resistance has it's benefits.

BRKT are without a doubt worth the money. Seeing what you get with BRKT and comparing them to other custom or semi-custom knives, yeah, they are worth it.

I just ordered one from knivesshipfee and it mentions shipping on 11/10, has anyone received theirs yet? How about notice it shipped?

Looking forward to playing with this SOON.
