Daryl's Crossbow: A terrible SHTF weapon

He said 2' group, not 2" so i think he means 2 feet. I think anyway. Which is still pretty damn impressive in my opinion from 100 yards.

Hey JP im in Philly, looks like you are not too far from me, do you know any good places to shoot a bow thats NOT indoors? I dont mind traveling a little bit as long as i can shoot for more than 2 hours. here all i find is indoor ranges and i hear they get busy and only let you shoot for an hour or 2. But hell it takes me an hour or so to get somewhere so its not really worth it to travel an hour, just to shoot for an hour...

My mistake :)

For indoor shooting look here you can pay for as much time as you want

10/22 silenced, with 30 round mags and bayonet.

A buddy of mine actually made himself up a rig like that... Maybe I'll post a picture soon. I have a 10/22 that I fixed a heavy barrel and suppressor for my self but no bayonet. As far as the 30rd mag goes I find the mores you squeeze in a mag the more it jams so I'll stick to a bag of my 10 rounders. I feel like I should clarify I shoot left so using a compound is uncomfortable for a righty.

Your lucky, i hate the city. Im buying land down in Florida now thats off in the woods down a little dirt road, 2 more years or so and ill finally have some peace and quiet. Plus have room for my own range :D Then ill be able to shoot daily, whenever i want at the speed im comfortable with. My Father lives a couple miles from the land im buying and he has an 80 yard range on his property as well.

Im actually wanting to shoot outside, i dont really care that much for the thought of indoor ranges, id always rather be outside than inside. But i see those places also have outdoor ranges as well. Thank you!!

I have and use my Excalibur crossbow it is a recurve and it tough as nails. It can drive tacks at 50 yards and because its not a compound bow its easy to work on and change the string. in the videos for them it shows them being ran over with a truck and dropped out of a tree sstand and it still shoots straight., I know I love it. but they aren't cheap. mine was 1100 with the light stuff package. I use it for hunting. it will shoot through a bear. through the rib ,then the collar bone and the bolt was laying on the grass behind him

Maybe someone has a crossbow for this zombie thread? :) Just joshin ya.

I think the defining element for this, in the show at least, is the lack of noise..... and it looks cool.

I have a pistol crossbow I bought from Budk. I am not sure if it would be a part of my "fictional" zombie takedown kit but its fun to shoot and actually is somewhat fast to reload. I would pay for a higher quality one if I could find it.
