David Boye Cast Dendritic Cobalt knife I finished

I will take that one, I love

It's yours - still available. I prefer the Boye Dendritic Cobalt for a work knife over the Boye Dendritic Steel or this one would be mine :) . I think it is a beauty too. Oh well - you can't have them all (can you? o_O) I'd be interested in Matt's next piece with the smaller blade above, but likely beyond my means and/or need. :(

Matt, you certainly did it justice with your excellent finish work.
I have a Wilmont Grinder, I wonder if I could make a similar piece using my plunge grind attachment? Might try it.

That's a great story Matt you are very lucky buddy, his was one of the first books that I bought when I first started making knives. Those finished blanks are beautiful, great job as usual, but I have come to expect nothing less.

I shot these for them last Fall. I loved them.

Steve, I can’t imagine it would be any problem at all. I did it freehand, and it still wasn’t a big deal.

His book is what got me going as well.
Had it next to my bed and kept looking it to it over and over again.
I love how he makes decorative "rings" in his handles from stacked washers

Thanks for sharing! Nice to see David at Blade. Nicely finished knife!:)

Visited his shop last summer, David and Debbie were very hospitable. It was very enjoyable speaking with them. They have an incredible team too. I also have several of his knives ... I'm fond of cobalt alloys. Makes a good slicer. David is very creative, he built a lot of machinery in his shop ... Good times with excellent people.
