Day Packs

Maxpedition have the vulture, it's a 3 day pack. Also you might want to check out Piper Gear from pipergear.com they have nice selections of backpacks. My buddy who is in the army just got back from Iraq, and he is using one of the packs. It's tough and sturdy and not to expensive like maxpedition.

Went to Sportsman's with the intention of picking up a Redwing 3100. After some time and comparisons decided to go for the Kelty Storm 3600. It was priced at $30.00 more but seemed to be worth the extra $$ and it came with a 3 liter bladder. I went to check out and it rang up for $80.00. Apparently it was on sale but not marked. I love it when that happens. Not to mention the 5% military dicount.

*edit*

Took it back as it didn't fit me very well.(too small overall)

James 61,
I and two members of my sons have used the Kelty Redwing for years. They are truely an excellant pack. The standard size is around 2,500 cu in. I have the large at 2,900 cu. in. Excellent waist band and shoulder straps. I have seen them at Bob's in Longview and at Sportsman's warehouse in Vancouver. They have several small pockets to hold things for easy access. The only draw back is they do not have strap attachment points like the military packs. PM me if you are interested in seeing one.
