Dealers Not Shipping To New York State

Hi im a NYer and this state sucks all around! From taxes to gun and knife laws,I cant wait to leave, just as thousands allready have!I have been denied sale too!allthough it was wrong bcause I live in WNY the law is different from NYC.The knife I wanted was actually legal here but apparrently sellers dont know or want to b bothered with THE LAW. you're right, they r losing sales! Ifound my supplier on this website, got my BK7 n BK11 today as a matter of fact!

Amazon won't sell me a non-locking 1-5/16" blade Spyderco bug. It could be considered a gravity knife, and thus would be illegal. I guess they aren't taking any chances.

I noticed that about Amazon a few weeks ago... but some dealers selling through Amazon will. I bought an M16 Big Dog in titanium a few weeks ago and the dealer shipped it to me.

Yep. But gosh, you really need to watch out for those 1-5/16" blades. Somebody might get hurt.

Eh, the knife laws here are almost as nonsensical. I swear the people who write these things don't even know what a knife looks like.

Crikey sounds as bad as Australia!

I have imported a few knives that have been confiscated by customs, they couldn't care about who sends them, they come after me for buying them. Can't have assisted open, gravity open, butterfly, double edged, dagger, spearpoint, concealed, neck, flick, throwing...
Hell if the police stop me and find my knife I am in for a $500 fine straight up, possible court appearance and lose the knife - it is illegal to even carry a knife in public!

Cheers
Gav

Isn't it simply astounding how far some of these laws have gone ? It really makes one wonder how our kids or grand-kids will be able to enjoy the items we leave behind.

In short, they won't. I was left some things by my late grandfather that are no longer legal in the state he lived in (CA).

Legislators, legislate. If they aren't dreaming up new laws, they can't very well justify their existence. More laws? count on it.

The guy who will inherit my knives (my nephew) lives in Boston. About 70% of the collection is illegal there. Not illegal to carry - illegal to even own. Ridiculous.
