Edit: Just crawled thru several enthusiastic posts on this forum extolling the virtues of the BAS. Seems the wooden handle on this model is few and far between, horn being the norm.
Second Edit: Is Ram Kumar among the younger of the kamis?
He has been putting out a lot of work lately. It all looks good. My BAS is by him. Thanks Cul, Bawanna that is certainly good to know re Ram Kumar. I would really appreciate seeing a couple of examples of his work if it's ok to ask in this thread...I know this is a blems thread and all...
Then again I guess any bladesmith that works for HI is worth betting the farm on.
Kumars mark is the 6 point star. Raj is 2 mountains, I think.I had to recently ask as I was confused myself. (big surprise I know). There's actually two Kumars. Ram is a young new Kami with major talent, Raj Kumar has been around a long time and usually makes the large knives and swords etc lately.
If I understood right, she usually just calls him Kumar, Ram will usually be referred to as Ram Kumar. I don't know how she keeps it straight.
Raj's mark is the 6 pointed star kind of deal we see a lot. I'm drawing a blank of Ram's mark, I'll have to look.
Ram's mark is a leaf. I have a couple of his now that I know that. I was think Anil but they are Ram.
I hope I got all this right.
What’s on second and I don’t know who’s on third!Who's on first? Kumar, Ram Kumar, Raj Kumar?
Already got an M43 so sent an EMS for:
15 inch 17 ounce BAS by Ram Kumar. Hairline crack on wood handle. $75.
Done Deal! Happy Dance (Bollywood Bhangra!)
