I heard that they will go for $369. I found a place that is expecting to receive a few, and I put my name on their list...
 
Looks tasty! I saw four bottles of Pappy van Winkle family reserve in my local store for a little over a hundred apiece. I was tempted!
 
I was seriously considering a bottle of their 23 Year stuff, but I'd gladly pay $100 extra for this one.
 
All things considered that's not to bad a price, but then again I have a bit of a weakness for the good stuff. :p
 
holy crap I want that badly.

I really need to find out where I can get a good selection of quality bourbon around here - broaden my horizons and such.

I'm a big bourbon fan - next to tequila its my favorite liquor by far.

I'd gladly take a good bottle over a single malt scotch any day - really doesnt get as much respect as it should...
 
I may have to swing by the distillery tomorrow and see if they have some laying around. I called a couple of the big stores here and no one has heard or seen of these mystical boxes.

Email sent to Julian Van Winkle and to the distillery. Hopefully I can locate some of this stuff. All of the regular release sold out in minutes around here.
 
I decided that I needed to order two of them. One for me, and one for my dad. This place is getting in three tomorrow, and two are obviously spoken for. If someone else is genuinely interested, I can provide the contact information for my source.
 
I found out that the Rip Van Winkle retailer closest to me is on my way to work, so I might have to stop in tomorrow...


probably won't be walking out with a $300 bottle of bourbon though :p
 
I would simply settle for the 15 year. I've only managed to find 10 and 12 locally so far.
