December 2022 Buck of the Month - 112 S30V 50th Stamp/Medallion Ebony Polished NS Frame

Got mine today and I gotta say that it’s pretty damn nice, great action and lockup, everything is tight and flush, grind is even as well! Also since it was mentioned, the blade is etched, not stamped.

Mine just got here also. It's beautiful! Great fit and finish. It needed a little flushing to get the grittiness out, but nothing like that web special 111 a couple months ago. Solid lockup. I severely underestimated how much I'd like the ebony/nickle silver combination. It's in my pocket now.

Sorry, no photos yet.

Mine came in earlier today's and I do like it a little more than my brass 50th anniversary models (one each with and without the finger grooves). It's hard to takes pic of it because it reflects the objects and colors that are around it, so it pics up the golden tones of my table and chairs, and the ceiling fan blades, and Navajo white wall paint.

And no matter how well you wipe off the fingerprints with a microfiber cloth, the finger oils streak in a bunch of lines or you touch the bolsters again 😂

Nice DocJekl DocJekl i notice the quality of these BOTM builds are better than the standard offerings like you mention, they’re more “custom shop” feeling in their construction. It can be a struggle sometimes with the highly reflective knives getting a pic to turn out, I had to take mine in a darker room and then edit the pic to brighten it up 😂

A great 112 to close out the 50th anniversary! I think Buck has a better appreciation of the 112's popularity as far as sales go and I hope in the new year we will see first more choices for the 112 in the Custom shop..Maybe FINALLY a drop point? And perhaps S35VN and S45VN? Secondly I hope we will see the Take-Apart concept expanded both for regular LE's AND in the Custom Shop..I would gladly pay for the chance to buy extra handles and frames and of course different blades. If Buck offered a complete package of options including extra screws and a FACTORY tool to change out everything I can see myself spending $500.00 for a deluxe set..

I ordered one and it is a vey nice knife.
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the dot/asterisk after BUCK . I'm wondering what that's about.

Interesting, didn't notice until you mentioned it.

The 112 Sport also has the dot/asterisk. 2022 first year of the regular production 112 take apart.

The 112 Buck Of The Month December 2021 has the dot/asterisk.

The 112 50th Anniversary (2022 regular production) does not have the dot/asterisk.

Maybe the dot/asterisk has something to do with the etch instead of a stamp. My April 2019 BOTM 55 has it too. Could it be one of those "Registered Trademark" symbols but so small that when etched it looks like a dot? You know, an R with a circle around it?

I never noticed it before, but I think that dot is on all of my etched blades. Even the little 417.

Sweet 55, by the way.

Can anyone who has the new BOTM and one of the regular 50th anniversary take a side by side picture to compare the emblems? I think the BOTM emblem is slightly bigger and the COA said it was unique to this model. Little things mean a lot lolol!

Post # 61 above has some good comparison pics. The emblems look the same size to me.

Apparently, the unique aspect of the BOTM emblem is that it is made of Pewter.
