Dedicated chopper knife for $100 or less... Sugestions?

Well, Bryan finished my knife and I have the pictures to prove it. He sent me these today and the knife looks even better than I expected. I am a happy camper.

Bryan sent me this video on my knife. Man, what a knife. Bryan is a great bladesmith, and an even better guy.

You are right, Bryan is a great guy too. I've got two knives from him. Actually I have one and my wife has one, but to be honest, I use them both.:D

He puts a great edge on his knifes too.

Bryan just finished drilling the divit into the handle to use as bearing for a bow drill. I like versatility in my tools, and this knife is turning to be more versatile than I expected. Can't wait to try it.

Hi all.

Ohhhhhhhh Preacher man,

I made up another video today of your knife in action being used as a bearing since i got the divit drilled into the handle for use in the bow drill, It worked great!!!! Micarta works better than G-10 I think.
My next knife like yours but with a 7" long blade is getting micarta for the handles. I was really impressed with the way the micarta did over the G-10.

No pit, you were not the drooling. I've been drooling for a while now over my knife. My knife... That sound cool.

Glad you guys liked the videos. It is kind of weird doing a video of myself and then watching it lol.
I did not leave your knife at the shop today Preacher Man, I brought it home and have it sitting next me and right next to
hawkeye5s tracker knife that he sent to me to fix up and get sharp lol.

I want to burn out a couple more coals and then I will get it cleaned up and leave it at the shop untill it time say good and put it in the mail. I hate to see them go lol, I know that Preacher Man will like to see and use his knife though.


Pitdog, remember when I was trying to PM you? Well I was trying to send a video of you knife and the way it cut. I did not want to post it for every one just in case you did not want it done. But if you still want to see it just let me know. Bump up your thread about your knife for 6 months and I will post it in that thread for you.

Bryan sent me the latest pictures of my knife in action. I need to make sure my wife doesn't see them or she'll want to confiscate the knife every so often. :D Seriously, maybe it's just me, but I was not expecting a chopper to do kitchen tasks well. This knife will see use both at home and on the trail. I'm blessed.

That was so yummy lol. Yea I like a knife that cuts. Just because it is a bigger / longer knife does not mean it should not cut.
Thick edged knives are unsafe to use and just plain not any fun to cut with lol.

Still loving these knives. Either one of them would be a nice companion to that chopper you're making Preacher Man. That's 7" version that youre making for yourself sounds great. can't wait to see it.

Loosearrow, very true on a knife is a razor wheather it is 4" long or 12" it just depends on what you/I/ we like and want to use.
