Dedicated chopper

So I recently bought a NMFBM. After etching and stripping I decided to take a limb off a tree in my back yard. I didn't think I would be fatigued by swinging it but I must admit I was. That blade is a beast! The edge was dull from the sandpaper so that may have been part to blame. It took the limb off rather quickly and bit into the wood hard. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Without a doubt, that NMFBM is a beast and a half. Some folks don't take into account the mass of their favorite chopper...me included. I have purchased knives that I knew would be a tad on the heavy side for real sustained work in the field. I suppose that is reflected in my choice of the Basic 9 when I exit the real world for a hunting trip. I do not feel tired when using that blade. I can pack the Basic 9 and not worry about excessive weight. It is fair to say that we have scant idea of how a knife will feel until we heft the tool.

And then we have the 1311. It is one of those knives that can be used for quite a while without suffering the pains of fatigue, and it works very well in the light machete category. As mentioned previously, I like the Ontario machete when extra reach is on the menu.

Enter the "cruise ship" Forsaken Mistress. Wonder how she will feel in the mit? I know one thing: she looks breath arresting.

MOABOLO violence...

It's a beast! You sure need to be on shape, since it's weighty... But when you chop in a up>down motion the force is massive. I one-shotted a lot of limbs.

But gets kinda hard to maneuver when you chop in horizontal, it keells arm, hand...and soul :p

I also hitted rocks... just few micro rolls, that I fixed easy in 30 secs with a ceramic rod.

Love my Busses

Has anyone used a Huck yet? I just got one yesterday and it certainly has the balance of a dedicated chopper and it feels a lot like my old 18" Ang Khola Khukuri. Looks like it should be an excellent chopper
