Deep carry / low ride titanium clips for Spyderco - Delica, PM2, Manix, etc. - Run #3

Hey Casey, I've seen some picture of your pry tool. Are you doing a list for these? If so can I get on it? Thanks Martin

Yer clips work great! Thank you!

Let me know when you get in some black.

I just made my first custom scales for the Spyderco Stretch and used your deep carry clip. Worked out great!
Ill be back!

Thanks guys! It is black and blue layered G-10. It is a lot more solid feeling now!

My buddy A.D. here picked up some deep carry clips from you also and he got the short ones. So I am excited to check those out also.

Damnit Big Case, you gotta stop making me want all of your wares!

Just wondering, are you planning on making those scales for say, the Yojimbo 2 or any Emersons? If you need one to model from, I'll gladly send a YJ2 your way to work with. Because I want a set to match the clip ;)

Yeah Zam, you should be proud of those scales. Seriously killer.

Sorry Tt - that's the problem with a site like BF... there is just too much cool stuff out there, like Zam's scales. Gotta keep an eye on the budget! I'm hoping on making scales for other blades, but my process is a bit different than some makers... not better, just different. I do a drawing, then work with a CAD guy as he takes measurements and does a digital drawing, which is then sent out to a machinist to be run in his CNC machine. The plus side is the fit and finish is really tight, but the down side is it is pretty costly and takes a long time (I think from the first drawing for the PM2 scales to getting the finished product was about a year). Anyways, that is long way of saying that I hope to do more if these go ok, but the timeline is pretty dang slow. But yeah, I love that YJ2 and would love to do scales for that bad mojito! I actually have the Delica scales almost done, and I think they are going to be really cool, kind of my idea of what a sized-down PM2 might be like.

Geez, now I like it even MORE! Can only take that 'Anso' pattern so much with the bi-colored G-10. Nice use of the layers.
I have visions of that Golden Ratio design from Casey's Ti scales in maybe black with orange down in the grooves...

Interesting to hear your process, Casey. You just let me know if you want me to send that YJ2 your way to model.

Thanks Casey! Yes, the procedure takes a long time that route. Lucky for me I do my own drawings, and have my own cnc router and do my own testing and tweaking happens right away, and there is a lot of back and forth to get the end result..I can easily see how that can end up being a year if you have 3 different people involved! This is the problem with sites like this! Why do I need so many knifes and why do they need to be special and different...lol!

I was looking at the knife today and was wondering if the Titanium would polish up and be shiny and lighter in color so it would match the hardware on my knife?
If not, you let me know when some black ones come in and I will go that route. Thanks Casey!

I was planning on just leaving the handles plain and just rounding but having something different brought me back to the drawing board. Thanks for the nods fellers! You know it would look like crap if it did not have that low ride clip!

Hey Zam, if you polish up the clip (I use a $10 polishing wheel that mounts in my drill, and add some red polishing compound), you can get it to look almost as bright as stainless. Ti will take a really nice shine with just a bit of work. Looking forward to seeing your next scale set!

Hi Casey,
Sent you a PayPal payment this weekend for 3 sand-washed clips (2 long, 1 short). Just wanted to confirm that you got it. I look forward to trying your clips and also look forward to updates on your Benchmade versions. Thanks. Jeff T., Virginia, USA

Casey, I'm looking forward to the Delica 4 scales. You have my email. Please let me know when they are ready brother. Just a heads up.....I just picked up a couple more Spydies, so after the first of the year I'll be picking up a couple more of your awesome low rider pocket clips. By the way I wanted to take the time to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you again Casey for your services. I look for to doing business with you again in the future.

Hey Jeff - yessir, they went out on Monday. I suspect you'll see them Friday or Saturday (though with the holiday shipping going on it might take a day or two longer).

Thanks Sush! Yeah, I'm hoping to have a proof-of-concept for the Delica scales soon... I'll definitely keep you posted. Thanks for the wishes, and Merry Christmas to you too! I appreciate the support.

Casey

Well I just had a surprise with a knock on the door, Casey hand delivered a mini prybar that I had ordered a couple of days ago! What a nice deal to have the man himself drop it by! It was wrapped for shipping in a nice box with a couple of stickers, made in the USA, on the outside and on the wrapper holding the box closed. I know I don't have to say it but that is service! A real nice guy that stands behind his work and continues to go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy or he makes it right! All I can say is Thanks Casey and have a great Holiday season. Best wishes Martin

Hey Dan - Thanks for the link. The blog is great! I like the day-by-day format. I appreciate reviews where it shows how someone likes or doesn't like a piece of gear evolves over time.

Yeah, the Millie is sweet. I think you made the right choice!

As for the pry tool, I'm hoping to get some pics up soon. I don't have anything up right now.

Casey

Hey Casey,

Thanks! I may well stick with that review format... tried other formats, but this one just fits with how I think lol. I don't just look at something new, too b I love getting AND actually USING cool tools. Next up... the FourSevens Mini ML Flashlight, I love this thing. Incredibly tiny, and up to 200 lumens. More to the point, always in your pocket since it's so damn small.

LOVING the Millie, definitely the right choice there... not quite sure what it's gonna take to dislocate this one from the place of honor, i.e. what's good enough to actually be in my pocket. Looking at the new Spyderco K-2, but every time I look at it, I'm thinking I can get 2 Millies for that, and I KNOW I like that one. We'll see... may review that one at some point... :-)

Have an awesome day!

Dan
