Defense situation

Lets say someone broke into your home and the only thing you could get was a knife. The other guy was really big and strong and had a hammer or crowbar or something. What knife, out of the ones you own right now, wold you use to defend yourself or your family against the attacker? Id probably use my M16 bayonet or my bowie knife, whichever one looked scarier and could do the most damage.
 
I don't want to be a smartass but I'd get whatever is handy. Otherwise, if I have time to make it to my stash of knives, I'd have a choice of firepower --- from which I'd make my selection --- instead of my blades.
 
Should this be in the Prac-Tac forum? I'd have something with a bit more reach than a knife in hand very fast. And a bright light.

BTW, does a VTAC count as a knife? I think that'd be the way to go.

....or, jump a few days into the future when my TOPS/Rinaldi Armegeddon should get here and I think we have a winner! :D :D :eek:

Well the question was which knife would you choose..so, not to be a smart ass, but, he wanted to know which of your knives you would pick :D
 
Under that scenario I'd be more comfortable with a baseball bat than a knife but, keeping with your parameters, I'd choose a kuhkri as well.

Well, under those circumstances I would grab my RG GB, as THAT is what is in my nightstand.
If we are going to the furture, when I will have my Darrell Ralph AXD NG, I would GRAB that!!
 
I have a Chris Reeve Sable hanging from my computer desk. It has a 12.5" blade ... on the way out to the door to see who's about to get cut, I might grab my old French bayonet with its 18" blade, too.

But I'd rather hit him with a chair. :)
