Where did these land in terms of being or not being double-edged?
I want you but cannot import D/E here 😬
I'll have to get 2 Dek 2s instead of one of each

the top edge is intended to be an option, the regular version will sport a false edge. The swedge creates a distal taper which terminates at a pointy tip. The unsharpened section between the point and the top edge provides some reinforcement for the tip, and a place to push from during sharpening. No reason it couldn't be sharpened as well...

the design philosophy for double edges is maximum damage, should damage be required
😬

No worries

I find the initial grind of the knife fantastic, but not a huge fan of the one sent in
Hard to say without details. I would like it to be a good cutter first and foremost. The perceived size lands itself to such a role, plus it would be nice to get a model with cutting ability as a priority. The tip I'd like to be a little different, but I've only seen a few pictures all angled, so again not clear and not known if the production model will be exactly like the one in the picture above. I hope we will know more on Friday.

I say the original grind with a high hollow or high flat 4" cutting edge

And call it the O.G. (original grind or just the OG ... depending on what Era you grew up in lol) DEK3

This is a pure performance D3V sell for me lol

I think Crag the Brewer Crag the Brewer is so in on this too hahaha

That would be nice, except I'd get one in MagnaCut as I feel it would be better for a cutter. Funny to call it OG before an original, production version even came out 🤣

If there is a bevel on the spine but it isn't actually sharpened does it still count as double edge? Thickness before sharpening would be pretty thin, so it might still kinda cut a little.
