I recall what Harsey told Stamp several years ago; (I'm paraphrasing here)

"If you know so damn much about knives, then why don't you make some, and show the rest of us how it should be done. Until then, shut up!"

We should listen to Bill.

You should start your own knife company, show these companies how to do it since they arent doing it right. Seriously, the best quality for the least amount of money right? Sounds good, if it can be done: Do it!

Yeah...ummm...it's not my expertise.

Sure it is. I think it's your calling ;) Lots of money to be made. Perfect business model, so pro consumer! Winning formula when customers are happy. Because everyone hates knife companies these days.

You know what, you're right!!! I'm going to start tomorrow! I'm so glad you chimed in!!!

If you pay >$100 for a knife, that knife better be NEAR perfect!!! There are so many examples of GREAT knives <$100, Ka-bar, Mora, SAK.

I don't know if you're just trolling or if you are truly this ignorant when it comes to knives.

This will be my last post for this thread, because a lot of you just don't get it and choose to name call and derail the thread, so I leave you with this...

"In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king."

Also, don't text and drive.

I think blixxx is trolling personally, but that said...the argument that "if you can't do it, don't criticize" is a bad one. I don't have to be a chef to tell when my steak is burnt or undercooked, nor I don't have to be filmmaker to know that the works of Ed Wood are not well acted, well directed, well put together works of art. I'm not saying I could make a better movie, or cook a better steak, but that doesn't somehow prevent me from acknowledging the flaws in product I receive, either.

Yeah well acknowledging flaws isn't what's being done here is it? He wants his steak done a certain way well he can cook it himself if the chefs cannot make it to his liking. Just an option since I dont think knife companies will turn the world upside down for this guy.

I don't entirely disagree with some of his points. If I'm paying $400 for a knife, yeah, it better have some absolutely STELLAR fit and finish and good materials, otherwise, I'm gonna feel ripped off. I'm gonna feel the same way if I buy a high end, high dollar PC that then can't run stuff that should be well within it's capabilities. Doesn't mean I'm gonna go start making my own knives or take up computer engineering though, either.

Yeah I dont think anyone is entirely disagreeing with his points.

You see people are using that example of "you try it" because he doesnt seem to grasp the difficulties in running a knife business. And goes on like he knows it like the back of his hand. Your missing the point and dont take it too literal, no need to be a computer scientist.

How easy for the pot to be stirred, now he got us talking to each other about nonsense.

Life is imperfect though.
Machines are imperfect.
Humans are especially imperfect.
So, I have to accept some level of imperfection in the imperfect creations of imperfect beings.

“One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect. Perfection simply doesn't exist.....Without imperfection, neither you nor I would exist”
