Since I have been receiving requests for a simple, no handle type knife, how about you guys design one for me?

Here are the guidelines.

Material size: 1" tall x 1/8" thick x 6" long (if you do holes in the handle max hole size is 3/8")

No double edge designs.

I`m looking for something that would sell for about $75.00, so don`t get too fancy.

Let`s do this untill November 1st, then I will have a vote here. As usual, the winner gets one free!

I've got a couple designs in mind, and one drawn out. We can submit more than one right? :D

I'm heading home in a few minutes. I'll post the drawings and stuff when I get home.

Im playing this round.

I liked the Michigan Trail knife moniker , so I call this the Missouri Forager. This knife is for harvesting mushrooms , skinning game, cleaning fish , whittling wood... I like a sharp pointed knife , and no ricasso .

I tweaked my original a bit.

What I keep coming up with is something very similar to your E.W.O.K. but with a reworked handle, solid 3/8" pins, no jimping, and no lanyard tube. Hmmm...guess I'll post it anyway. Gonna be an ugly pic though, my cat keeps stealing my big honkin' eraser...apparently they make great cat toys.

It's tempting to go with a more interesting design, but to meet that price things are going to have to be kept very simple...with as little steel wasted as possible.

Okay, here it is. I call it the B.A.S. (Butt Ass Simple). Rounded handle to fit well in the palm of the hand. For me a drop point is the most useful style. Minimal waste all around. Again, much like a slightly reworked and simplified EWOK.

Alright here's the first one I did. It's somewhat of a modified Warncliffe EDC. I'll call it a WE.D.C. (Wee-Dee-See) :D

Hopefully this picture turns out, I don;t have a scanner so I just took a picture of it.

Specs:

OAL 6"
Blade 2.75"
Handle 3.25"
Height 1"
Thickness 1/8"

The holes are all 1/2" apart, the small ones are around 1/16" dia. the large are 3/16 dia. (These sizes can be changed I was just imagining what would be a good size for them). Also the Last little hole could be larger to be a lanyard hole instead.

I drew up a similar 5" version with a very different handle. If anyone is interested I can post the one too.

I went a little crazy on my lunch hour and came up with several. I am going to blame this thread for my lack of production today at work.:D

How about the one you are making for me in Dec. I guess we didn't draw it up. If I draw it up, I would have to snail mail it.

Don't laugh I have never tried this before. One inch or 1 1/4 tall steel.

OAL. 6 1/2 inches

Blade 3 1/4 inches

Handle 3 1/4 inches

If scales were used, you could relocate the holes. If no Handle, space three holes evenly and make them 3/8 inch.

Udtjm, Jims bar stock will be Material size: 1" tall x 1/8" thick x 6" long. You need to tweak it just a bit.

I like your design , it looks familiar.

Cleaned it up a bit...with antique ivory micarta. The Dozier pro-guide...one of the most comfortable knives I've ever held...was my inspiration for the handle. The rounded back end should ride nicely in the palm.
