Desperados Waiting for a Train

I have steel coming in between .06" and .250" with a couple of thicknesses in between. The Serrano funds allowed me to order steel, abrasives, the etcher, stencil maker, bandsaw blades, a few End mills, some odds and ends and leave a small surplus amount. I considered spending it all on hookers and blow, but remembered that I'm not into hookers and blow so it went to shop supplies instead.

You'll have plenty of time for hookers and blow when you're a rich and famous knifemaker like...

Hold on. I'll think of one...

:p

I'm still waiting for you to buy an Island! I don't need fame or fortune, just a shop... on a mountain top.... with a chair lift down to the beach.... and an amusement park.... waterslides... shootinge range.... hot indigenous girls.... tequila.... oh and a surface grinder, definitely a surface grinder.
:D

Just had to get a clearer pic posted.
Jared. Check your mail tomorrow.

Grinding some swedges in the wee hours of Halloween. What better time to try out a tip I read about that suggested grinding in the dark under a spotlight. Can't remember where I read it but it works pretty good, let's your mind focus in the project.

I usually check my mail every day... ;) So, that mystery shipping notice is half solved now.

Great pic!

Sounds like paradise, man!
Hot indigenous girls-- uh huh

Loving this knife!!! The sheath also works well for pocket carry. Some more pics of mine, because I love this thing! In case you're wondering, that's a big, amazing piece of petrified wood from AZ's Petrified Forest. Lots of green and red coloring, with white streaks of crystallized quartz bits, which also nearly cover the top surface! Amazing piece of history!!! :D

Here she is sitting on a big hunk of white Yule Marble from Marble, CO. Same exact stuff that was used in the Lincoln Memorial, and in the Tomb of the Unknown Solider.  This block was brought home many years ago when the quarry was not in operation, and was vacant. It's about 10" x 10" x 20", and 4 of the sides are pretty flat. Obviously sawn at some point, then the flat surfaces eroded slightly from sitting where it rolled down the hill. The ends are broken off, and an old crack through the block finally gave way while sitting in my garden where likely freeze/thaw cycles did the deed, so it's 2 pieces now. But cool piece of rock nonetheless! :) I should probably use it in photos more often.

Y'all are probably getting sick of all the pics of my Serrano. Too bad! :p I carried her in the canted crossdraw position (~10 o'clock position) all weekend while Pheasant hunting. I was amazed how well it carried like that, and how unobtrusive it was. Never got in my way whatsoever, even sitting in the truck!

She dissected a few birds with ease, removing wings and legs at the joints, and I also used it to filet the breasts off the bone after getting home. It slices really, really well, and the blade shape is just right! I am thoroughly impressed with this little blade, pert near perfect! :D

A few sunset fence post pics with different camera settings and sun positions:

After dinner on Saturday, socializing with good friends, drinking whiskey and enjoying a nice cigar in the quonset at the farm...
