Destroyed a new Strider and my thumb..

I had nightmares about stuff like this before I put my first high end knife on the WEPS. Knock on wood I haven't had anything neat this bad. Hope this gets sorted out.

Thanks man me too. It wasn't the sharpener it was definitely the knife having a wacky primary grind. But I also get a little nervous when putting my nice knives in the sharpener too. I just hope strider doesn't take a belt to the edge and send it back cause this is gonna keep happening every time I put it on the sharpener! That knife is effed. It just needs to be scrapped

Just finished this one up now it's my best edge yet. 46 inclusive perfect mirror, no visible scratches on my new pd1 digicam DGG SMF. More proof that knife was wacko haha ImageUploadedByTapatalk1401568015.654997.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1401568115.052889.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1401568172.969371.jpg

Yes it can be ground even on a belt, the second I need to sharpen it on my wicked edge it's gonna do the same thing again

not if they re-grind the primary grind on knife... It will fix everything.

question: what was your edge like from the factory? was it even or all wavy? because however it was from them you would think would be replicated in your sharpening. If the primary grind is off then it doesn't matter if you sharpen it with a belt or on a WEPS the flaws will show themselves.

I just got an email back from Strider and they agreed the knife needs to be replaced, they are waiting to get a DB back from heat treat then sending it back to me.

What a great company, they totally could have screwed me on that one but they went above and beyond what I thought they would. I'm glad I got into Striders, I have 3 SMFs that all feel like fixed blades and the actions are smooth as glass. Only problem I've had they took care of me very well
