devirginized

Congratulations on your first of many! Nice choice on a sebie to open that package as well. Welcome to the madness and feel free to ask questions and make sure to post some user pics.

I got some really hard oak to test this on muahahahah.

I will say, this is about the most dull blade I've seen on a knife.
Suppose to be this dull? I'd compare it to an axe.

I don't need it slice paper, although my custom gobi in 01 slices paper easily and still doesn't roll or chip on oak. If I bring the infi steel to a thin edge, will this be an issue?

You shouldn't have a problem getting that thing to a hair popping edge...then I use a leather strop to keep em sharp. Great first blade man!

That sure got there quick, it just shipped out Monday. I am very glad to see it made it ok and Happy Birthday!

The factory edge on show knives usually is sharp, but not shaving sharp for some reason, yet they strop to shaving sharp pretty easily. I chop with the factory edge and take pics before edge work so I can gauge improvement in performance. ;)

Yeah the timing was perfect!

Came up at the casino, got funds for a leather sheath now :D

I plan to polish on a 8000 grit only, I'm assuming I shouldn't remove any shoulder on this baby.

Congrats and happy birthday! That is AWESOME!

My Favorite blades are the FBM... NMFBM just makes it even cooler! nicely done sir!

Thanks everyone!
Didn't have any time to chop any wood tonight, got a busy 2 weeks ahead of me. In that time I will do some sharpening and polishing at work (where I keep my stones).

Here's a size comparison of my work knives, about the same length but outweighs 3 of my chef knives (1 is not pictured, sujihiki similar to the gyuto).

I'll have this thing slicing wax paper in about a weeks time muahahaha

Beautiful....Great Score in Busse Colors Black and Yellow G-10....Happy Birthday and great way to start...

Now that, is the way to start your love affair with Busse knives!!! :D
