Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

#47 Viper helped break down the mountain of empty cardboard boxes that were taking over our garage.

Went geocaching today and found one of the boxes frozen into the log it was hidden in. Since my EDC Challenge knife is a Peanut, I got to carve and pry the box out of a frozen log... with the mighty little Peanut.

Case spay blade opened a mailer and then oh so gently pried out two Cherokee commemorative knives from their bed of tender boughs.

My knife wanted to do some work yesterday, but this box wasn't having it. :grumpy:

Went up to 8750 ft yesterday for a hike with some snow still on the ground. Spring fever.
brought out the Buck 119. Found some willow that had about 1 1/2 diameter and decided to cut out a piece to dry out to make a Try Stick and get some practice in before the camp season starts.



The 119 makes quick work of the side branches

The little Camo Coyote helped me put together a crib today. (Ok, it pretty much just opened a bunch of packaging, but hey, it's a integral part of the job.)

Cut a loose thread off my Dockers Jeans , sharpened a pencil , opened mail and cleaned my finger nails, Friday night after a little wipe down I cut some pepperoni and hard cheddar for a post supper snack.
 
Cut up a cardboard box to place in the trash. Trimmed a hangnail, opened the plastic bag in a five pound burlap bag of Basmati rice, sliced ham, onions, carrots, celery and garlic for bean soup, opened foil packages of medicine for the wife. Opened the foil top of a wine bottle to get to the cork and then sliced apples and cheese for cocktail hour with said wine and wife. Opened a box of cornbread mix to be served with the bean soup. All accomplished with a Case large Sodbuster and a GEC #85 bullet end jack.

The fruit trees are heavy producers. In the spirit of not wasting I picked up close to 150 lemons off the ground. The Little Jack did an outstanding job slicing the whole bunch. Next step was juicing and into the freezer.
 
StoneBeard,,,,,yup when yu have lemons, you make lemon aid. Good to see the 25 at work.

The saber ground on the 85 is not a slicer like a flat ground would be , but it gets the job done.
When you have mushrooms, onion, tomatoes and some farm fresh eggs, and you get up late in the am...you make a brunch frittata.



 
Swayback, thanks for the kind words and update on the saber grind. It's hard to beat farm fresh eggs. Mighty fine looking frittata you made there.
