Dinged for the CHOP HOUSE

Just using my analog kitchen scale I'm getting about 15 oz. on the Lean and 18 oz. on the Thick Cut. The (much) higher grind on the Thick kept it pretty close to the lean apparently. I'm getting 20 oz. on my 1111 with this scale for ... uhhh.. scale. FWIW, I think much more weight in the blade would have made it too forward heavy.

I'm getting started on leather for mine this weekend, I don't have enough supplies to buy a craftsman sub and start selling them yet though.

My thick cut is 17.85 ounces on the dot.

That's it!!!! Holy sh!+. That's an all day totable weight for sure. Thought would be more. Wish would have got both to see how grinds compare. Know the LEAN is very slicy and baton able also. Doesn't fit BK9 sheath like hoped it would. Almost does though. Very comparable knives. Cept CH seems bit more sturdy and comfy.

Don't know if anybodies weighed them yet but

CHOPHOUSE THIN :::: 15.3 OZ
SKINNER :::: 6.2 OZ

The damn chophouse feels/looks great.😩 Was hoping would be able to get rid of without hesitation but not happening. I'm glad went with black. Moss looks purty tho too. Glad with choices cept wish woulda got a thick cut also to see differences between both.

I'd argue the coating on the Skinner is probably one of the coolest I've seen to date. I'd actually need to be convinced to strip it.......

I have a thick (mine) and thin (not mine) at home just now. Both are very nice but I will take the thick one every time. The skinner is a little different to what I expected, if I had a sheath I would take it away on hogs and deer with me this weekend. It will be up to the fat ASH and B4 to do the dressing now I guess....

It's awesome no doubt. Mutlicolored green and the texture is very cool. There's no way I'm stripping mine. Zip the coating through a bunch of cardboard and will smooth out and slice better. Sharpened both these already.

Agree that skinner is decently thin behind edge. Much thinner than some other 3/16 small KIN i got. Tips descent to. CH is VERY slicy yet sturdy. As slicy as BK9 but beefier grind and tip in real good way. Some KIN's grinds and tip are too thick for me but these are perfect imo. Been wearing skinner as necker since got it.

Love both these blades.

17.65oz SYKCO Chop House Thick Cut and ranked as one of the best coffees in the world, PT's Roasting Panamanian Auromar Ironmar Geisha.

Got mine today. I only got the skinner for the heck of it, as it was so cheap with the CH, but I also really like it. Mine's in black resC with a muddy blade. Great combo.

Edges are nice and sharp on both. Makes me wonder why the edges on my SYCKO edges often seem to be so much better than those on Busse knives - I have a Skinny Ash that is sharpened like a brick.

I wish I would have ordered the skinner too now that I am seeing the pics.

I really like both of these blades.

15.3 oz for the lean chop house and 6.1 oz for the skinner.

In this pic, the closest in weight to the chophouse are the regulator and the DSSF (14.5 and 14.9 oz respectively). DSSF obviously handles completely different though. R9 and BMe have similar blade lengths but are both over 20 oz. Gotta love that res C. B8 is the lightweight of the group at 12.5 oz.

I was a little concerned with how the geometry would be on the skinner. Especially with the 3/16" thickness spec. It's a lot better than expected though. Seems like everything received over the past few months has come a bit sharper than before and haven't measured, but does seem thinner behind the edge than other similar blades, but haven't taken any measurements.

It would be nice if we could get some more offerings from the SY.

Out of curiosity, were yours sharpened by Denny?

Thanks for the pics Xxwarderxx !
How do you think it will stack up against those other similar sized blades?

17.65oz SYKCO Chop House Thick Cut

That's what mine weighed in at as well, 17.65 oz. Oh, and the grind is ~4-dps down to an edge that is only 0.040" thick at the shoulder, thinner than my SYKCO 511! That shocked me, it's more akin to my GSO-10 than my Rodent 9. Well done, Scrapyard! :thumbup:

Interesting ---- my SYKCO 911 weighs about 16.1 oz ---- never thought the Chop House Thick Cut would weigh that close to it, especially given how tall that blade profile is. I can't wait to get it in hand so that I can understand it . . . Not disappointed, but very curious

Chop house and skinner just arrived via UPS. I have gotten three boxes this week. All my TGBG's came in and these two. Got another box incoming next week.

I have to be honest. I absolutely love this skinner. It have a great feel. It has a natural feel in my hands. I wished I had ordered a couple more for the kids. Being I am not going to be able to order any more of these, I am going to have make some of these in my shop. I love the balance. I can imitate the blade, cant do that handle.....yet lol. I will keep the original and my boy will get my copy. Love this little guy fellas. Wished they would bring this one back on for sale.
