Disappointed Spydie Millie!

Ok I am not gonna post anymore on here. I simply stated my opinion and asked if others had similar experiences. I made it clear I am a huge Spydie fan and was not here to bash Spyderco. While the Millie might be ergonomic for some it wasn't for me. Thats all. I prob own 40 Spydies and will own more!! I am disappointed the Millie didnt work out for me. Hey Ken aren't forums the place to discuss concerns and voice your opinions? Am I missing something? I love Spyderco! I dont believe i am taking shots at them! If I upset you I apologize.

For what it's worth I have the same opinion of my Military's handle. It feels too thin and a little awkward in my hand but I still like the knife. I find handles like the Chinook, ZT 0560, and Emerson CQC-15/Commander/Roadhouse to be the most comfortable to me. I kept my Military due to the fact that it flat out cuts well, albeit a little uncomfortable to me.

I always found the Police's thinness to be part of its appeal: a lot of edge in a really slim package

Just to be sure I wasn't totally wrong I pulled out a few spydies to compare.
The Manix and Endura have about the same "thinness" as the P3. The Mili is a bit thicker.
I think one of the appeals is the length vs. bulk of the P3. You wind up with sort a stilletto look and feel, but in a more practical and functional package.

Maybe the OP is missing a finger or two because the majority of the knife community considers the Military to be perfectly ergonomic and comfortable.

I don't think the OP or anyone else is arguing about the popularity of the Millie. That would be a fairly silly thing to do since it winds up at or near the top of any list of favorite Spydercos.

I don't find the Millie uncomfortable, but not sure I'd go so far as to say its ergonomics are perfect.
When I was making my little comparison I handled it again and its growing on me. The handles just seem so dang big, but maybe that is exactly the appeal to a lot of users.

Such a great design, and it rides in the pocket like a knife that's half its size.

I was with you up to that point and can't really agree.

I feel obligated to defend some knives and the Military is one of em'.

I don't think anyone is attacking the Millie. It's obviously a very good knife and extremely popular with good reason.

I love my Millie..

I carry it only on weekends, in my right rear pocket of my jeans.. I don't care for tip down in my knives.. but in my back pocket it seems just right.

I carved up an 18lb brisket for easter and it performed wonderfully..The knife is a slicing machine, and a joy to own.

The S30V seems to suddenly be inferior, now that other steels have been offered in the Military. I don't really understand that..I think the S30V is awesome and for the price you can get one on this forum.. 100.00 is pretty tough to beat compared to any knife in its class..
