disappointed with the new Reeve Umnumzaan

I like the rather generic design.

With the manufacturing quality of CRK put in, the knife should be pretty good.

My only dislike is the use of a non-standard fastener for the pivot.

Not exactly my cup of tea. However, I'll bet some of the other prototypes are lookers.

I'll wait to see some of the other pics before I really think yea or nay.

There was talk of a wharnlif blade so I got my hopes too high. The new knife is the same sebenza no radical change. I expected something radical from the folks who innovated the framelock.
oh well, there is always customs I guess.

I sympathize with your disappointment, but this is CRK...they make timeless rock-solid knives designed to be used as top-end tools...they're not exactly sitting on the cutting edge of radical...;)

Nice blade shape...:D

If it didn't have the glass breaker, then I would like it AND buy one.

Half I like and half I don't. The glass breaker seems like a gimmick. I may buy one but I'll wait on some reviews first. I like to hear some first hand experience from the CRK users.

It looks like the production model won't be out until December, because they're moving to a new factory building.

It's not to my taste but I avoid "tactical" looking knives. I think he's trying to open up a new market segment for CRK and I hope it does as well as his other designs.

They are some good guys there!

esav, calm down.... :D

I prefer Classic Sebs, and will get a newer one of those

Got a chance to check out the new CRK (seriously, I know it's some Zulu name and all, but really..) at Blade and gotta say I was wholly unimpressed. :barf: The only CRKs that I will consider in the future are the LE Annual Sebs.

CR knives used to be a pioneer in folder design and blade steel selection, but now, it's like the ideas are all used up. I wonder if maybe the latest and greatest blade engineering left with Scott Cook when he left CRK to start his own blade business. If you check out the engineering on the Lochsa, that thing is amazing!! :D

It all boils down to what type knives you like. I like the larger folders so I like this new choice from CRK, and will definately have one when it becomes available. From the pics shown I like everything I see. Am curious to see the backside and clip placement. Only things I would have liked to have seen were a 4" blade, and thicker titanium handles, somewhere around .187" aka (3/16").

From looking at the pics, it doesn't do anything for me. I am positive that it will be a quality built knife based on the Sebenzas that I own. I like the deep cutouts in the handle but the new design doesn't do it for me.

personally, I don't like it. Business is business, I'm sure, but not my cup of tea.

It looks cheap to me. Hate to say it, but it looks like a Sebenza knockoff.

And agreed, the "glass breaker" does seem pretty gimmicky. If that little bump is a "glass breaker," then plenty of my knives already have them.

It could see myself buying a Sebenza, but I'd be hard pressed to want to buy one of those. But, I'm sure plenty of people will want them.

I like it! Not so hot on the scale patterning but I like the shape and overall design. I could foresee one on my future... but a few customs are taking priority.
