Disassembly pics?

This is a great thread, it answers a lot of questions (without asking) about knives I don't own.
Here's a Spyderco Gayle Bradley 1 (skeletonized liners)

you could also open the knife in a plastic bin, bucket etc, or a large ziplock baggie.

Some of the photos show the most important ingredient for disassembling a knife- a large light colored towel. Spread it out on your workbench, work on the knife in the middle of it, and any little piece that comes off will fall on the towel and stop rather than roll away or bounce away.

Here's one you don't see in pieces very often and probably won't a Buck 186 but it does show the inner workings of an iconic blade that this one is a tribute to 110. Made for only 1 year, you'll notice the bushings at the pivot and rocker pin for the backspring/lock. Made in the early 80s and only on the 186 at the time, they were ahead of their time.

Took these just minutes after getting it..
Two screws hold on a CF piece that hide the frame screws.

The first frame screw looks like it was hand ground to make it fit.

The frame halves separated. Notice the bearing on this side of the knife.

A detailed look at the pivot. The white is some kind of thread locker.

Another look at the pivot and bearing. Note that the steel washer has a flat spot on the ID that matches a flat spot on the pivot to keep it from rotating. This also looks like it may have been hand ground. Also notice the bearing. It's different from side to side!

This knife (serial #0185) just sold on ebay on Jan 2, 2017. Two weeks after these pictures were posted in the forum. eBay item number: 222359354102 The eBay seller described the knife as follows, "For sale is a brand new, unused ZT 0999 Limited Edition. The box has been opened to check everything was there and that was all, plastic package not opened. Never carried, cut, sharpened, etc and not handled for over a minute. Still in absolutely new mint condition..."

Interesting, I sold this knife to another member here that posted a WTB add. I replied saying I had one for sale and my price. He suggested a different price and I took it. Not once in the discussion did he ask about the condition, he didn't even ask for pictures! I almost thought it was a scam but, the money is sitting safely in my bank as I type this and I can see now why he didn't care. The knife was carried and obviously disassembled but, I guess if you never asked you would never know.

Thanks for the quick reply. And I am glad I was not calling you out. I simply could not stop myself digging a little deeper when I noticed the same knife on eBay. Sounds like it was an honest mistake. Not sure how I remembered the serial number, but as soon as I saw your disassembly pictures something clicked.

I wouldn't exactly call it an honest mistake, had he asked I would have gladly told him the condition of the knife and he could have easily found my post in this thread just by checking out my profile (like I do with anyone I buy from here). That said, the knife is nearly indistinguishable from new and I'm not upset he only bought it to make money (free market and all that).

It's also not the first time one of the knives I've sold ended up on ebay in this manor. I had another blade forums member lie to me about his intentions and sold the knife (for a profit) almost directly after getting it. Like I said, I don't have a problem with someone making a buck, but that kind of deception irks me and he's on my ignore list for it.
