Funny, I was just wondering yesterday, what would happen if one of my favorite Beckers was discontinued. I was torn between the BK-9 and the BK-4, but seeing as how the 4 might be a little harder to come by, if this rumor is true, then I'll probably pick up the 4 next.

Now, I really hope they don't discontinue my favorite Becker anytime soon; The BK-17. If that one were next on the chopping block, I'm ordering 4 or 5 from Dex and keeping them safely stored away. :o

Can you ever have too many 5s or 15s???

Do I sell two of my 6s and buy 5 more 4s???

It's all so complicated. I better get my thinking cap on!

I'm really surprised to hear the Machax is one of these. The 5 and 15 not so much. But the BK4?? Now I feel like I need another one.

So I did talk to Ka-bar today and basically there is plenty left to last a long time. However, when they are gone, they probably wont be making any more.


I am gonna be placing a huge order so if any one wants a one or a few, let me know and we can work out the details.
 
I can understand the 4 going away with the release of the Kukri.

And the 5 cuz it seems not to be getting a whole lotta luv.

But the 15? Pure slicing goodness in a great size.

Hi Dex,

When you called kabar, did they say they will be discontinuing the 5, 15, & 4?

If so, we have to pm about a parkerized 4 when you have time.

That sucks. Do you think they might be available into June/July? I was always hoping to pick up a 4.

Basically sounds like they wont be making more when they run out. So yea, eventually they will not be available. But they do have plenty left in stock and they wont be unavailable anytime soon.

And for sure, send me an email and we can discuss a Parked 4.

I think there will be some around. I know I am gonna try and get as many as I can and keep them in stock for as long as I can.

I disagree. IMHO the Kukri will never replace the 4 because of size. Practically, the Kukri will be a great camp knife and also just a great knife to add to a collection, but it will never replace the portablility of the 4.

BTW, if the 4s are discontinued, I'm ready - I have 3: 1 Cinci, 1 Kabar stamped, and 1 Kabar etched.

Having said that, I would like to pick up a Kukri. I sure wish they were available a few months back when the Canadian and U.S. dollars were at a par. The way things stand right now, they're going to be more than 20% more expensive this side of the border.

Aint that the truth! However, the prices for some of the BK&T line up here... its still cheaper to buy south of the boarder and get it shipped here.

Who is this "boarder" you keep talking about? Do you have someone else living in your house? Or is he/she a snowboarder? I understand you're across the border in Canadia ;) and have your own verbiage, but this is a term I am not familiar with.
 
Got to have another 15, my little boy wants one for himself and keeps asking me when will I give my 15 to him.

Must grab one before they run out of stock..

Where exactly is Canadia btw? I've only heard of Canada.
