Discontinued, or just impossible to find? Plus: your "white whale!"

I've become entranced by the Boker Kwaiken VG10 carbon fiber and satin flipper (01BO298), but can't for the life of me find it in stock on any site in the US...even the fringe ones. Has anyone seen it for sale, or know if it's been discontinued from production?

And while we're on the topic...what's your "white whale?" Sure, we all have a "grail," but that may just be an expensive future wish. I'm talking about a rarely-seen, highly-coveted knife that always seems to elude your grasp somehow. Always enjoy a good yarn!

I was a big fan of the Mr roper in Texas tea stone wash and you can't find it anywhere. I know On this forum there seems to be knowledge about not so great reputation for the company but I'm not completely sure what that's about I just like the look of the knife

- It's easy to like the design since it's a Warren Thomas design. Too bad that Quartermaster did not pay him to use the design.

Kershaw 3600 volt, I've missed two for sale on here. One was a blem user on sale for $70!

Really never knew don't really like anything from quartermaster other than that knife so it makes more sense so I bet if I wanted to spend more i could just get the Warren Thomas version

I have been wanting a Kershaw RAM for just short of forever, at least it felt that way. I finally got one and I was not disappointed.

the original Kershaw Volt (the really big one with the compound blade) and the original Speedform (also the the really big one with the compound blade). Those that do have them really seem to want to keep them. I have seen one original Volt for sale over the course of a couple of years. I remember that longer ago than even that someone sold an original Speedform on the sales part of the forum. Even RJ Martin himself has been quoted saying how hard they are to find at that he himself actually had to pay hundreds of dollars for one of his original Volts when he did manage to find one

I collect Kershaw skylines and have been fortunate enough that given enough time I have been able to find every model. There is only a single one off that I know of in existence that I don't have but it was a gift to a friend from KAI and I have zero intention of pursuing it. What I can say is that the hunt is more exciting than finally getting that white whale. In a couple days the excitement wears off and you are stuck pondering "now what do I Persu"?

LOL agreed BrentD86. I have been on the hunt/lookout for the original Volt and Speedform for years now. There are other "white whales" on my list but those are actually available, just very expensive like the ZT 0600. I quite honestly would rather have the ZT 0600 than an actual RJ Martin Q36. I know the original Volt and Speedform are available somewhere I just have not found them yet...

Ive been after the Brown S30V Blur since I started collecting Blurs and still havent got one. Supposedly the Purples and Blues are harder to get but not in my case.

I have 2 s90v Militarys and a D2 Paramilitary. I've been watching the exchange for an m390 Mili but have missed them. I really want an m4 blade.
Guess I'm interested in alot of different discontinued Spyderco. I'd love an original CS Talwar too.

Microtech Socom Elite, clip point, anopeen blade finish. Used to have one that me and a friend passed back and forth at least 6 times whenever one or the other of us needed gun show money. He finally hit me up one time when I was broke, and wound up selling it at the gun show. Ahhhh, how dumb that was. I should've scraped up the money by any means necessary... I miss that thing like crazy, and good luck finding one.

I'd love to find a spyderco captain at a reasonable price. Still hoping for a partially serrated sprint run on that.
The m4 military is on my list as well as a caly 3.5 super blue and a g10 Lum folder.
I like spyderco's... :-)

I'm not entirely sure that the VG10 CF/Satin has been released yet. I know it's been discussed for a couple months but I don't think they had them out yet. I would doubt it's been discontinued, since they just switched the Kwaikens over to VG10 just late last year so it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for it to be discontinued already.

It's pretty common for popular Bokers to sell out quickly and take some time to come back in to stock. The CF/Smokewash VG10 Kwaiken was that way and of course the Vox F3 was difficult to get for some time. I would just be patient.

My white whale? I not even sure if it exist. It is a folder with a 3 1/4- 3 1/2 FFG S30v drop point blade and G10 scales.

Interesting to hear, and thanks for the info! I'll try to be...patient...*twitch*
