Discontinued, or just impossible to find? Plus: your "white whale!"

My Kershaw Boa has become a lost whale in my garage. Haven't seen the damn thing for three years since I turned my computer room into my dad's room.

Benchmade Rukus. They can be found but a very high premium.

I've become entranced by the Boker Kwaiken VG10 carbon fiber and satin flipper (01BO298), but can't for the life of me find it in stock on any site in the US...even the fringe ones. Has anyone seen it for sale, or know if it's been discontinued from production?

And while we're on the topic...what's your "white whale?" Sure, we all have a "grail," but that may just be an expensive future wish. I'm talking about a rarely-seen, highly-coveted knife that always seems to elude your grasp somehow. Always enjoy a good yarn!

This one is not discontinued and we will be getting more in stock, hopefully soon! Hold out, they are worth it!

Kershaw Mini-Cyclone.

Bradley Alias 2.

Both disco'ed when I thought they were "expensive".

Now will you be getting the hq exclusive black on carbon fiber one that you have on your site. I gave up on waiting and bought the regular flipper in titanium but I still want the cf one in black

Thanks for checking in, BHQ! Your site is the one I found it on first, and I intend to register and request an email when back in stock shortly. Just never got into the smoke wash but I'm sure that one did just fine!

So can you share some of your experience with the titanium version? Is the negatively curved flipper problematic, any other tech issues or raves, etc.?

It's been my edc for the last two weeks the bump on the flipper is alittle weird to get used to and I'd hand is wet you might slip off. That would be the only major change i would make for it. I love the shape of the blade and handle. The titanium picks up fingerprints and smudges all the time and if hands at not dry or oily is is hard to open. The way the blade fits into the handle looks awesome with how flat it all fits. Liner lock looks alittle thin in person but it locks up real well with no play. Wish there was a solid clip instead of the slotted slip mainly because I run my clips into corners and the solid clips are tougher. All in all if I could grind the flipper the other way it would be perfect for me, I love flipping it.

Wenger Professional 4 layer SAK with marlin spike/sacking needle. It was made in the 60s-72 according to sakwiki.

It has eluded me for over a year now and I doubt I will stumble upon one any time soon...

For some reason I've been trying to find a Real Steel H6 Blue Sheep and can't seem to get one in Tan/Satin. I don't know why, since I'm not normally a huge fan of Chinese based knives (not trying to china bash here) but I think with all of the new and good companies coming out of china in the knife industry (Kizer, Reate) that it may be time to give it a go.

I got one of those, it was a gift from a really good guy on these forums. I would not part with it. I have a rule, when someone gifts me something, it tends to stay with me. Any other knife can be fodder for trade or sale. Needless to say the gift floored me in a good way, I had no idea my actions on this forum were as appreciated that much. I've won a couple giveaways through the years and it also blew me away. My only luck was usually bad luck. ;)

I feel the same way about gifts but my friend gave me a knife he got for doing work and the person heard I liked knives. He did not know what it was and gave it to me and turn out it was a old 184 buck and i am not a fan of the knife and i know others people would love it but I would feel bad about selling or trading it off

This knife will hold a special place in my heart someday. As a child my father told me about having a fondness for knives at one point in time, and as a teenager with an eye for the peculiar he picked up this very knife one day. He kept it with him for years when he was a scalloper and used it for everything. However there was a time when he had left it at his parents house after visiting for the holidays when he returned from a 2 week excursion on a boat named the Corsair the knife was no longer there. He had planned to hand this down to me at some point and lamented the loss.

For years I only ever imagined what the knife could have looked like, but one day on a certain auction site I saw exactly what he had been talking about all of these years, it was going for 150$ and I didn't have it on me at the time.

To this day i've never seen another.
I know it's a vintage fury butterfly knife, but it seems as though they were coveted by their original owners.

Someday I will find one of these knives, not for myself but for the 20 year old in my father that regretted ever leaving the knife behind.

Sorry for the story but, doesn't every white whale have one?
