Hi, I might be being paranoid.........I've done quite a few deals over the internet and never came across anyone using a PO box as there address. would you send out the knife to one? thanks in advance
Depends on if Paypal verified the address as good or you were paid w/ MO.
Check to see if buyer is in "good" standing etc...
Other than that, I can't think of anything else. I've never come across this issue before.
There are some locations so far out of town that the post office provides them boxes rather than sending a truck miles up a dusty road just for the one delivery.
Other people live in neighborhoods rife with thieves and prefer the security of the mail being held in the post office to the risk of a package left outside, which would be stolen for sure.
Some people just prefer to keep their purchasing habits out of the direct view of family members.
There are all sorts of reasons for someone to have a P.O. box. In my case, USPS won't deliver to my home because I live out in the woods a bit and am outside the local delivery area. I know quite a few people that have one for security reasons as well. There is no worry about someone coming along and taking your package or mail if it is sitting at the post office in a locked box.
every once in a while when i know i am going to be buying a lot of knives or car stuff that the wifey will not like, i get a po box. it is cheap and discrete.
I have to use a po box since there is no mail delivery in the little town i live in,and it is
a pp verified address.
No risk of having your package left on your door step,i find it very convenient.

I have a PO Box as well as a street address. I'd prefer to only have the PO address for ordering merchandise since I'm often not home to receive packages during the day. But UPS won't deliver to PO boxes...
It would depend on the deal. If I was sending something completely paid for, I would have no problem shipping to a P.O. Box. If it were a trade and I was shipping before receiving the other persons knife, I would still ship to a P.O.Box, but would require the persons actual street address and phone number.
This is good stuff to know. I've never had a problem shipping to a P.O. Box and even wanted to get one for myself in case the front office of my complex is ever closed.
I think it differs some depending on location, but for my area there are five sizes available and range from $42.00 dollars a year for the smallest (3 IN X 5.5 IN) to $400.00 per year for the largest (22.5 IN X 12 IN).
Wow, I checked online and prices do differ depending on branch location. The above prices were for my closest large post office, but if I were to get a PO box at the small office closest to me the price would start at $20.00 for a small box. It might have something to do with less access hours. Some of the smaller offices are only open a couple hours a day around here. PO boxes are usually located in the lobby.
I had a Bailey Bradshaw bowie [borrowed] from my mail box once. Luckily it found it's way back. My mailman hung $2000.00 in watches in a wal mart sack from the flag on my mail box in a driving rain. I now use a P.O. box.
I have a P.O. Box and use it all the time for my knife deals. The reason is
1. I do not want uninsured mail sitting in my mail box or if the box is large our postal carrier puts it in a bag and hangs it off the mailbox flag. Great all that is missing is the steal me sign. My P.O. Box keeps everything under lock and key.
2. I use my P.O. Box because its better than having to drive 15 miles into town with the "yellow card of death" to find out that the package is still out with the carrier.
I also have shipped to hundreds of P.O. Boxes ..dont worry about it.
