Do I look like a serial killer?

Anyway, i guess it's a bad idea to take out knives where you guys are. Honestly, no one really cares around here except for one dude who gave me weird looks in Starbucks(maybe he thought i was cute and was trying to check me out)

A person using a potentially dangerous tool responsibly doesnt deserve a second glance.
A person playing with, fondling, etc... a dangerous tool... That person I am going to have to keep an eye on.

EX: a walmart employee opening boxes with a box cutter, putting a new blade in it, whatever. Ok cool. A walmart employee sitting next to me mesmerized by his box cutter, playing with it, fondling it. Yeah its time for me to go lol.

As long as the person doesn't act like mentally sick, or agitated, I'd not be concerned about him/her fondling a knife.

I don't think someone preparing an attack would fondle a knife in public.

I'll tell you .... I've only been accused of being a cereal killer once in my lifetime and that was plenty enough!!!

Now .... the Star-Benza stays pocketed at breakfast time!

I always try to be careful about having a knife out in public... I even try to be discreet if I have to take it out to cut something.

You know ..... I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting for someone to do something like this ...... so I just went and dun did it!!!

Starbucks is where people take their laptops to write and be seen writing. Maybe the OP has spurred some kind of story, later to be made into a movie.
Cheers

I use to be a commercial electrician. I always had a bunch of knifes and switchblades too. hell all of the other workers where buying off of me. my boss was didnt think is was funny. the Forman said he didnt mint every time I had a good sell I got pizza for the crew.

I never take out my...... tool.... in public.

It's no ones bizniss but my own. You know, unless it's another knife lover and the I am probably not at work.

I think common sense would dictate not brandishing something that may be threatening in public especially nowdays with the Boston bombing and Texas college stabbing.

I know how you feel. I think most who do not carry knives see them as weapons. People who carry knives see them as tools.

No, not at all if we are taking it out for a reason.
We took them to grade school and traded them like baseball cards, and we often would compare and trade knives with teachers in high school.

EVERY man here in the south carries a knife.

If you take one out in a very public place to use, or show it to someone no one would think a thing about it. Same if you wear one on your belt, or wear a neck knife.
I've ate out with people at Blade and many at the table would have a bowie on their side, and no one even gave us a glance. We will even pass them around the table to show what we had bought that day.

But if you're in a very public place(such as Starbucks) and take one out just to fondle it while you're all by yourself thats just weird, and people are going to think that no mater where you live.

Same if someone took their wallet, keys, flashlight, screwdriver, or anything else and started to fondle it for no reason while they were all by themself.
No one would be scared, or worried about it, but they would think that person is a bit wierd.

I typically do not take a knife out in public unless there is a cutting task at hand or I'm intentionally drawing attention to a particular carry method to a friend or customer.

Honestly if you think about it.... If you are out in public doing something out of the norm. There is going to be someone that might notice. And if the some person does, they might give you a stare or odd look. I think a knife at home, gun show, knife show, or shop, those are all pretty good examples of it being ok. But if you are going to do it in Starbucks where typically a lot of liberals hang out you better be ready or shouldn't care about the attention you might receive. I live in SLC, UT and I am still careful about playing and fondling with my blades, or I guess more aware when I do it. Just because :)
