Do you carry anything else in the same pocket you carry the knife in?

a pack of gum, a zippo or my space pen for cheaper knives, if the knife is a more expensive knife i dont carry anything with it.

A knife, even an expensive one, is just a tool.
No need to baby it.:)
In the RFP the knife travels with a wallet.
In the LFP it rides with a bus pass, lib balm, pill bottle, and whatever else goes in there that day.
Keys ride on a kubotan...easier to carry them that way.

My keys go in the same pocket, but clipped to a loop I made for my belt so they don't go all the way in the pocket. Other than that, another small sheepel friendly knife, a Spyderco Grasshopper.

I used to carry my car keys in the same pocket as a linerlock, until a key opened the knife.
Now, I keep a knife in my right pocket, but alone. Keys go in my left pocket, and my wallet is in my back pocket.
I now am in the habit of keeping stuff out of the pocket that has a pocket knife in it.

I carry my leather money clip in my right front pocket along with my knife clipped to my pocket, they don't interfere with each other and I can pull either one out that I wish to.

If you carry a knife for SD I think it's better to carry it alone in your pocket

I carry a pistol in my RF pocket, and nothing else goes in that pocket. I don't need a negligent discharge, or anything interfering with my hand getting to the gun.

My folder goes in my LF pocket (though I am right handed), along with keys, change, a twin-tip Sharpie, and a key ring with a Fox 40 Micro whistle, Fenix E01, nail clippers and Victorinox Classic. Today the folder a stainless Police SE. I have have become used to deploying the folder with my left and and transferring it to my right. Don't even think about it now.

I have junk on my belt too, but we won't go there.

I am left-handed, and carry only what I consider to be emergency equipment in my left pocket so I can access it easily. It usually consists these days of a LionSteel SR 1 folder and a small Fenix light. Keys, coins, etc. go in the right, along with a small folder.

I am RH-ed. LHF has two keys (house & Jeep), some change, if no shirt pocket - my cellphone, EDCknife (BM 755), and clipped to it's edge - a Surefire E1b; LHR - extra 'nice' knife (ZT, CRK, etc); RHR - wallet & Vic Farmer; RHF - CCW.

Stainz

PS MikeH - thanks for showing me that LionSteel SR-1 last week - nice knife!

I used to, but not anymore. A few scratches from loose change I don't really mind, but after pulling out a folder and finding it "jammed" with a dime stuck behind the liner lock, I dedicate a pocket now.

Knife clipped in right front pocket with change below. Never had a problem. When going for coins the back of my hand is against the knife.

Just now emptied my pockets onto my desktop. Right front pocket as you look at the picture and left front pocket as you look at the picture. No matter what knives I am carrying, the change and keyring are always in my right front pocket and the big set of keys are always in my left front pocket. Doesn't matter how expensive or primo the knives are, they go right in with all the keys and change.

Benchmade 556 mini-Griptilian in the right front pocket

SS Case 4 5/8" Navy Blue Sodbuster in the left front pocket

My knife is clipped in the same pocket where I keep my keys, Leatherman Squirt and any change I happen to be carrying. If I had a knife I didn't want to scratch I wouldn't be carrying it.

I try not to, but since the left front is reserved for my phone, I have to put some stuff with my knife, but it is always clipped so it stays out of the way. the biggest problem is when I have to retrieve stuff in the bottom of my pocket underneath my knife.

usually not my pockets tend to be small... keep my folder in right front pocket know i have a mini sak in there too my keys clipped to a belt loop close to my rf pocket, left pocket gets more action keep an ipod nano there change and other stuff wallet is in left back pocket and my right back pocket is actually empty! how do people fit all those leatherman's in their pockets??
