I only usually carry when hunting or planning on doing some plinking. Suppose if it was easier to carry get a handgun around here (legally anyway) I'd pack a revolver with me but I feel pretty safe in general because if someone attacked me and managed to best me they'd have to deal with my wife.
Whenever legal, I carry a firearm for protection. There have been many times that I didn't have a gun and wished I had one. However, I can't recall a time when I had a gun and wished I didn't have it.
Yes, I always have a legal CCW with me in the woods wherever it's not prohibited. You're on your own out there. Back in civilization, I carry whenever it seems advisable to do so. I feel that it's my responsibility to protect myself and my family.
I very often have guns with me in the bush, but only for fun. I don't worry much about defending myself, to be honest. Most of the places I go, odds of seeing another person at all are slim...some places I've seen more bears than people. And I don't really worry about bears.
But it's very common for me to be hauling a gun around, that's for sure!
Several things,
