Do you carry more than 1 knife on you?

I have ended my workday with 8 completly trashed edges and still had sharp knives for whatever came next. Ridiculous? I call it working for a living.

At work I carry a fixed blade sheepsfoot utility I made and have several more in my tools and desk. When camping I'll have 4 including a multitool, slipjoint, large and small fixed blades.

That depends - does this person carry a nice $100+ fountain pen for personal use along with a smaller backup pen on their keychain, an extreme tactical pen in their left pocket for defensive use, and a sheeple-friendly bic to loan out to 'non-pen people'? All the time? Even if their occupation does not require them to carry more than one pen?

If so, yeah, that'd definitely be crossing the line between being prepared and being ridiculous. ;)

*Braces for pitchforks and torches*

If you visit pen forums, that's exactly what you will find.

usually have more than one.

Today it was a leatherman tool, a SAK and a little pocket carry fixed blade

Right on. Like I said, IMHO, someone filling their pockets with knife after knife when their work doesn't require it is ridiculous. Someone who needs to haul a dozen knives to work to get through the day - that just makes sense.

I also said not to take offense, people... sheesh... ;)

Two, a fixed blade and a folder. Same sheath, folder goes in the pocket. I now carry a new little POS Smith & Wesson folder made for cutting rope and heavier materials while working. It replaces my folder I usually carry. If I feel the need I carry a second fixed blade but usually never have to. I suppose you could say I carry three but one is a tiny key chain swiss mostly for cleaning my nails and cutting them.

1 rarely, 2-3 usually, but 4 blades commonly in the field.

usually the keychain spyderco, the pocket clip (spyd endura or LM skeletool), neck knife as backup, and if I am in the field I carry a hatchet as well.

Two. 1 serrated, 1 plain

Right now either a Leek or a Sage in my front right pocket and then a SE Cricket on the keychain.

I carry 4 everyday everywhere. (well sunday just three) Old school Leatherman Super Tool on my belt, Byrd medowlark front leftpocket (more of a back up always kept sharp), on my keys is a Leatherman Micra (just a handy little tool) and front right pocket is my main blade it rotates from a Cold Steel, a Spyderco, or a Benchmade.
(Sunday carry is a Swiss Army OHT, micra on the keys, and a Busse Active Duty in pocket)

Yes, I carry a folder for small jobs (string, tape, clamshell packages, etc.), and a fixed blade for bigger jobs (some chopping, cutting hoses, all kinds of stuff).

I've had to cut radiator hoses and heater hoses on occasion that have developed leaks near the ends, chop branches after thunderstorms, and many other things that a folder simply would not work well for.

I carried 1, then I bought this little slipjoint buck. Now I carry two. One for sheeple at which even most of them laugh, and one for bigger tasks.

Ironically enough, the little bugger gave me more cuts then any other blades I had before. Granted I had no circulation in my hands as it was very cold, and it was soo small that i haven't yet gotten used to it.

A knife and/or a multitool.....yes,by all means! Otherwise this:
No. No offense to those that do, but IMHO carrying multiple knives - unless you have a job that specifically requires you to carry and use multiple blades - strikes me as crossing the line between being prepared and being ridiculous.

Lately I have been carrying a slip joint and one hand opening locking folder most days.

Something like this usually.

i may be weird but sometimes I carry no knife "how do you open packages?" you might say well I use a funny thing called my teeth :D. Also I forget one wth all the junk I carry in my pockets. But seriously folks when I know I need a blade a strong folder to take abuse no FBs as per local laws and a multitool with a small blade and misc for fine work. Anymore is just for fun.

i carry 5, why? well why not? ;)

hmm, you carry 5 knives...given your handle on this forum, how many guns do you carry then? i think i know who i want to be next to me on the coming zombie invasion :D

interesting replies everyone. lots of varied responses. it'd be interesting to know what your occupation is alongside the # of knives you carry. it'll provide context as to whether how paranoid you are :p
