Do you carry?

I carry a folder inside my waistband all the time. Gets used almost daily. If you had told me 5 years ago that I would be carrying it every day, I would have said "you're crazy", but now I feel weird without it... like forgetting your wallet or something similar.

Are any of those areas in Southern California?

I see this sort of attitude as a large part of the problem: Every knife "must" be a weapon, and there are no ther possiblities.

its not my attitude, but the letter of the law. i didnt say every knife is a weapon. the "/" should be read as "or".

weapon refers to any firearm, billy, etc.

knife refers to any knife.

do you post anything useful, ever?

Does that mean orange county is safe but once I cross into whittier I'm boned?

i would think oc is similar, ill try and look up the county codes for oc and la. that is just the city code, but normally la county and city codes are very similar.

whittier is within la county, but an incorporated city, so they have their own muni codes as well.

I mainly stay in North Oc La habra, brea, fullerton, etc. But I sometimes cross over the line and go into Whittier and La Mirada. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any finds MORIMOTOM? I was wondering being 13 if I could carry a Spyderco Delica in my pocket concealed? (Not in school or courthouses...Not that dumb)

In town or work I discretely carry a FB necker or boker subcom. On the trail any of several small FB from custom makers in 3 to 5 inch blade range, open carry. But I do have a 12 plus inch chopper coming that I may or may not take into public areas.

having a tough time finding the pertinent oc laws. ill keep looking.

If I remember correctly in LA county the limit is 3 inches and in OC is 3 1/2 inches in a locking folder. Also if a clip is showing it doesn't count as concealed. And a folder is not considered "ready to use" like a fixed blade and so the laws are more lenient with folders. I would recommend not to carry a concealed fixed blade. As stated earlier, if you are not causing trouble, you have little to fear about carrying a folder.

My name is Spencer, and this will be my first post here.
Welcome to the forum, Spencer. Make yourself at home!

Do any of you carry knives? If so, do you carry them openly, or concealed?
Yep. Always at least a couple in pockets, sometimes one on my belt, depending on what tools I anticipate needing on any given day. Here in Oregon (home to numerous knife manufacturers) the laws are relatively lenient about things like auto-openers and daggers: we are free to carry them, as long as we don't conceal them.

I usually carry a switchblade of some sort. It's Illegal to own an automatic knife in my state, let alone carry one. I've been caught with a switchblade twice by the police, when they searched me for fireworks. I am a minor, and both times the cops let me keep my blade.

keep your illegal behavior to yourself. admitting this, and thereby suggesting the op do the same, serves no useful purpose.

Why were the police searching you for fireworks? Also, if you don't mind me asking, do you live in Illinois by any chance?

Thankfully I don't live in Illinois !!! I'm a resident of Wisconsin. I got searched cus I lit off some firecrackers in a park and someone called the cops. I fought the charges in court, and the judge decided it was an unreasonable search.
