Do you carry?

srry about suggesting that I could be breaking the law, but I really don't care about getting busted for a switchblade. If law enforcement really cares enough to track me down and charge me for my switchblades, I'd say that our tax dollars are finally at work.

It sounds like your looking forward to a life of getting corned, for extended periods of time. In most places, weapons violations are not looked upon as jokes, but rather as serious felony offenses. While a LEO may use discretion and not charge you with an violation/ infraction or even a misdomeanor, they almost definetely won't be so lenient with a felony.

Thankfully I don't live in Illinois !!! I'm a resident of Wisconsin. I got searched cus I lit off some firecrackers in a park and someone called the cops. I fought the charges in court, and the judge decided it was an unreasonable search.

Wait a minute, here in northern Illinois (where I live) everyone goes up to Wisconsin to buy the "good" fireworks. I thought firecrackers were perfectly legal up there. (I do know someone around our area that sells illegal fireworks, but that's another matter:foot:)

no one is going to track you down. but a search or your person or vehicle could easily lead to arrest if autos are illegal in your area.

regardless of the outcome, ie probation, fine, confinement, you should care about what happens to you. especially if your wallet or freedom are affected.

I'm 22, I live in the UK and I carry.

I carry a Spyderco UKPK because our laws are so restrictive. 75% of the reason I carry is for the usefulness of the tool, 25% because our rights are eroded daily here and I'm making the most of mine.

I don't make a conscious effort to conceal it, it is clipped inside my back pocket - anyone who looks will see the clip and the top of the knife. The amount of "oh my god that's illegal!" I've got from my misinformed friends is astounding and saddening at the same time.

I do not carry at what I deem to be inappropriate times (i.e. going to the pub). At times like that the likelihood that the local bobby and indeed the magistrate would see it as my carrying it as a weapon (so illegal) is greater.

In the Madison area of Wisconsin, it's a misdemeanor to carry a concealed weapon (blade length over 3 inches), and it's a misdemeanor to have a switchblade. Cops don't seem to care to much about knives though.

As far as fireworks go:

It's legal to own most fireworks, but it's against the law to light them off. If cops can prove that u were lighting the fireworks, you can get a ticket between $400 - $1000. Anything that shoots up in the air is usually Illegal, as well as firecrackers. The cops can and can't be cool about fireworks, it depends on the situation. Most of the fireworks that are sold are sold illegally, by temporary firework stands that move around. There is a Corneilier's firework store that is run legally, but prices are super high. I usually buy my smaller fireworks from this guy who sells them out the back of his truck, but I have to make the bigger explosives like M-80s

I always have a knife on me and it usually is a Lone Wolf Double Duty. Swithchblades are illegal here but I use the thumb hole to open it if I am using it anywhere a non family member might see.

I like the assisted and switchblades as they are so easy to open and use when doing any task where only one hand is free.

Most people cannot even open the Double Duty even if have shown them it is a switchblade.
