Do you edc a flashlight?

I carry a LRI Proton Pro. It's 100+ lumens, uses one AA and is light and slim for easy carry. Just wish they'd make their clip so it would clip on the bill of a baseball cap.

Are there any good ones, reasonably priced, that use AA or AAA batteries?[/QUO

For the last 3 years, I've carried [daily] a Coast T7 which I originally paid over $75, but understand that today you can find for around $40. It is extremely bright, offers a focusing option, and uses 4 AAA batteries. Being an occasional klutz, I've dropped it a few times, on tile and on rock, and it has not failed me yet. And it will grow dim when the batteries start to weaken, telling you to change them. Many of the 123A models I've owned would just die without any warning and that's not the kind of surprise I need.

Another vote for the Streamlight Microstream. I have been carrying one for many years and never been disappointed. I work in a very harsh industrial environment and the only time I have had to replace one was when I dropped my light and it ended up in a place where I couldn't get to it.

I have before, but stopped due to the size. I need to pick up something smaller to edc. A single battery flashlight is what I need.

Yep - surefire e2 defender with a GG&G impact bezel - my favorite self-defense tool(non-firearm).

I was a flashlight hoarder before I became a gun hoarder, then a knife hoarder and multitool hoarder. Once you start carrying a light, I think you never go back. Its the kind of thing that you don't realize you need until you start carrying it.

For a good while I've been carrying either a Quark Mini CR123 (rechargeable battery) or a Quark with an 18650 body, each in a very small and unobtrusive Fenix open-top nylon belt holster. I've been playing a lot also with a Quark Mini AA feeding on a 14500 (carried in pocket). Awesome light in this configuration.

I have a Photon Freedom on my gadget ring, and the Samsung SII Skyrocket is a secondary backup.

Yup, I usually EDC my HDS Systems 170E or 120E. Sometimes I rotate through my lights throughout a month or two, I'm a confessed flashaholic :0). There's great info/ flashlight reviews on Candlepower forums (CPF).

I have had an ITP A3 EOS (single AAA) on my keychain for a couple of years now. It's a 3-mode light with an 80 lumen high. They can be had for ~$20 shipped.

Fenix also makes two nice keychain AAA's. The E01 and the E05 are both single mode, lower output lights, but solidly built. $12.50 and $15 respectively. LONG battery life on those two.

the streamlight microstream already mentioned is under $20, it's a good one, tempted byt he e05 myself as well though jds1

I aways have at least one, LED Lenser T7, and a gander mountian brand gsx, its 125 lumens and takes 1 AA battery for 20 bucks on sale.

I've been thinking I need to get a small light to edc that won't break the bank. Y'all have given me several to look into with first hand experience that they will work. Thanks

Once you start edcing one, you won't ever be without one again. You've seen there's plenty to be had for under $25

+1 the maratec from countycomm, that little light is really nice. I own a bunch of the other little lights by fenix, 4sevens but the maratec is my favorite by far. Plus, for $30 you cannot beat it. The quark mini 123 is a good one as well but a little fat for pocket carry everyday. I watched a video where the maratec AAA is put into a dishwasher, wash machine and fish tank and works flawlessly after each test.

It's got a nice floody beam. A very practical little light.

Jeff
Thanks jeff, might try one.

A flashlight is something I'm grateful to have everyday, probably even more then a knife, honest;y wonder sometimes what i did without one.

Arc AAA premium for keychain ( hands down one of the best torch purchases I have made)... Surefire g2 nitrolon for work( going to switch to led though, dropped it from about 15 feet onto steel and the bulb broke).

I have edc'd Fenix, EagleTac, NiteCore, 4Sevens and Zebra... all worthy lights. Then one day (about a 2 years ago) I bought a Jetbeam PC10... since then that is the only light I have carried. I dont go anywhere without it. Amazing !
