Do you ever feel "over equipped"?

I love my knives and multitools, and I switch up my carry from day to day depending on what I am doing and what kind of mood I am in.
I usually keep a Victorinox Classic SD or a Rambler on me at all times, for the toothpick, tweezers, and scissors more than anything. Sometimes I carry a pliers based multitool as well, either a Gerber or Leatherman of some sorts.
So the other day, I had my Leatherman Sidekick, which has a normal knife blade and a shorter serrated blade, in my front pocket I had a Case Stockman, and in my watch pockets I have my little SD.
Then it occurred to me, I was at that moment carrying 6 knife blades on my person . Not to mention I have them sitting all over my desk at home, I have a fixed blade in each vehicle, I have a fixed blade in my desk drawer at work, and another SD in my backpack I take to work, etc. etc.
I also have a full set of tools at home, a tool set in my vehicle, another multitool in my truck, Utility knives everywhere, tools at work, a multitool in my tackle box I take when I am on the boat, etc. etc.
As I thought about it I came to the realization that I just have too much junk, and I really don't need to be carrying all this stuff everywhere because I have access to knives and tools all day everywhere I go.
I thought of a simple single bladed knife on my person and leaving everything else at home, but the thought of leaving it all at home makes me sad... 🤣

So does anyone else feel "over equipped" or are you thinking that you can never have enough?
Nope, just means you need a good belt or Batman utility belt.😀 hey better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it…..however you may have gone overboard just a tad. 👍 There is sense of relief knowing I have my inexpensive Opinel #6 in my pocket and a small fixed blade in my man purse…..satchel….hey, Indiana Jones carried a satchel too. Except mine is a Starbucks bag with travel mugs printed on it. My daughter lent it to me since I carried too much stuff….so this meandering post goes indirectly back to the OP’s original question. 😜 I do like my SA Alox Pioneer for the basic tools.

Just a point to ponder, I wonder if the guys with utility kilts feel they don’t have enough room to put more stuff? 😄

I carry an EDC kit in my pocket. It has a set of knipex pliers, knipex wrench pliers, fix it sticks w/ bits, a bic lighter, Parker pen, and tiny measuring tape.

All of this is for ease of access and convenience. I hate being at the office and I need a screw driver or a set of pliers and nobody has one. I hate being out camping and I need to dig through gear bags or a plastic bin to get a simple tool. Same with being at the hardware store and needing a tape measure that's not immediately available. No more waiting in line for a pen at the post office, etc.

At the my work office I include a folding knife. When I'm not in the office, I carry a fixed blade instead and a pistol.

Am I "over equipped" carrying all of this? YES! 100%!

The main reason I carry the items in my edc kit is for convenience, not preparedness or being equipped.

I personally think edc has become a little ridiculous. To me carrying more than one knife in town or a city is silly, if out hunting or camping 2 knives (one clean, one dirty) is plenty.

You're not going to survive the apocalypse with what's in your pocket or satchel/fanny pack, etc.

My personal cutting tools live clipped to the edge of a shoe box on the elbow table at my right hand. this box also contains my reading glassses a head lamp, a pair of low power binoculars and other misc. guy stuff.

The" cutters": A Spiderco large folder (dunno the model), a knife that looks like a pen by Hen and
Rooster for suit wear, and a Leatherman Wave. The Wave goes into a horizontal belt sheath whenever I wear my pants.

I only consider the multitool to be an EDC item.

I do not consider myself to be over-geared.

For over equipped individuals, see any video with "Go-Bag" in the title.

I normally only carry a folding knife in my pocket. Hiking I have a folder and a fixed, Usually have a SAK or multitool in my Jeep or truck.

Usually don't feel over equipped - except when I made a knife roll and took it out with 5 canoes and a multitool.

I carry more than I hope to need, and hope to never need it all. I like knives and guns, so I feel no need to justify why I carry what I do- I like them🤣
My vehicles are equipped to handle most any scenarios when on the road.

Not at all. I regularly carry the following in my pants pockets:

A very sharp single bladed locking folder, SAK Compact, pocket notebook, pen, wallet, car fob, house key, and a cell phone. It’s light enough that I can run …. if you can call my top speed running that is.

I add fixed blade if I plan to do any extended work.

As long as I can make a rational argument to myself that every item I carry makes sense, then I do not feel over equipped. I have down sized a bit over the years, but just a little bit.

I carry entirely too many knives and SAKs with me on a daily basis both on my person and in my daybag, for no other reason than that I enjoy having these things to fidget with or look at during long boring Teams meetings* at my laptop job. Most days I'm offsite, and then I'm surrounded by all my sharp precious children, it truly is my happy place.
